Unfortunately my hardware is too old to play games that are like that.
But I've noticed the same with mobile games. My policy is: if that single player game doesn't start without internet access it gets deleted.
They denuvo the shit out of their games, so it's actually pretty hard to pirate them nowadays.
AC Origins player here, made the switch to pirate version cause it's Denuvoless and works fully offline, without CPU spikes/frame drops. RAM usage also decreased a little.
