@CombatWombat

The world should boycott the world cup as we cannot get to the USA thanks to the sky high fuel prices for planes, caused by the war in Iran, not to mention the rediculous immigration policies and serious danger of being thrown in to a cell by ICE.

FIFA should give all countries a bye on qualification and make the 2030 world cup with the same teams that should be playing in this world cup.

@IratePirate

I was going to do the same, but decided against it, I plan to call it Microcrap, but microslop sounds good too. I feel sometimes it is useful to refer to things properly in the interest of clarity.

If a person is qualified in medicine are they not able to make decisions based on current medical science and evidence? Therefore may be improved outcomes for patience.

This post seems to be subject to decision by the senate, so I am guessing they are going to ask questions to ensure this person is suitable for the job.

Sugeon General
The U.S. Surgeon General is the Nation’s Doctor, providing Americans with the best scientific information available on how to improve their health and reduce the risk of illness and injury. The Surgeon General oversees the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps, an elite group of over 6,000 uniformed officers who are public health professionals. The USPHS mission is to protect, promote, and advance the health of our nation.

@supersquirrel

So assuming a 'surgeon general' is some sort of political / medical position, would it not be better to have someone qualified and experienced in Medicine?

@Samsy

If regulators could just direct even 5-10 percent of fines in the direction of fediverse and open source developers we could really ramp up the building of aternatives, we have alternatives just need investment to ensure that work can carry on.

Good, these companies need to 'grow up' and start taking responsibility for their products.

It looks like the west has been caught with its pants down, China is developing what seems to be far more efficient AI tech, perhaps while big tech are motivated by money and IP theft, China has just got on with developing better ideas.

This also seems to be a major win for Open Source models, which is a good thing. Could also be a good thing for the EU who want to develop their own AI solutions to break from US big tech.

@AmbiguousProps

Good point, what was the main issue with the capsule? or was it with the rocket that took this in to space?

There is also perhaps going to be a need to transport items to from facilities in space, if we build a new ISS and also build one orbiting the Moon, then items / people need moving around.

I have often thought we need like they have on Star trek, shuttles or runabouts (DS9).

@AmbiguousProps t

Is thus such a bad thing, as humans explore and spend more time living / working in space, we are going to need a way to get people to / from space, but also supplies, if Boeing can be part of the supply solution.
