This is so childish. "If you don't self-sacrifice when no one else is, then you, you're the one I'm going to call out."

Shaming someone for not being the one to make a change you want to see happen on a systemic level while doing nothing to fix the system is such a child's take.

The problem is that the GOP forgot to keep it a boogeyman. Hypocritical conservatives could continue the culture war against abortion as long as the independent, Democrat, and liberal woman believed SCOTUS wouldn't rip apart half a century of precedent. As soon as the monster came out from under the bed and became real woman began arming themselves to fight it.

This is such a bad take.

You're not the arbitor of news. Being able to discredit her is important to a lot of people who have lost friends and family to get quackery.

To some of us, any argument you can use to bring those you love, people who are once upon a time intelligent, rational creatures, back into reality is important.

Her being disgraced may give her another 15 seconds of happiness, but it's another point of argument. It won't be a winning point for everyone, but it can be a tipping point for some.

You much think it's bad journalism, but you're not the arbiter for everyone. So, since you like to put your head on the sand and be ignorant about the people who spread dangerous medical misinformation, the kind that lead to mobs in Spain trying to pull down cellular towers, scroll past and keep doing that while the rest of us talk about seagulls

She did world wide tours peddling her 5g magnetic crap. She's literally the source of that rumor and it is world wide.

Is she as notorious as Wakefield? No, but he's got 10 years on her in the bullshit arena.

Is it the most notable world event at the moment? Also no, but she is a global figure.

I disagree, Sheri Tenpenny has been among the most damaging voices in the antivax arena since it began. This is a relevant as Andrew Wakefield losing his license. Her claims are used worldwide by the anti Vax, covid denying nut jobs.

Just because it happened in Ohio doesn't mean it is limited to Ohio.

And this is what it is for me.

The customization on sync gets me so damn close to what I had with relay that I'm just happy.

I used others, but they were heavily inspired by Apollo and the customization to make them closer to my muscle memory wasn't there. I'm happy to pay a talented developer who can give me my preferred experience.

And I really don't get this raging choosing beggar entitlement to people labor for free

[–] thereisalamp@reddthat.com 2 points 2 years ago

No you're just super stuck on this really bad analogy.

Sync is a prostitute in the same way a hair dresser is. Your mom can slap a bowl on your head and cut your hair for free.

[–] thereisalamp@reddthat.com 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (2 children)

No, there's a free version. With about 1/100, the ads the official Reddit app has.

I wouldn't demand a haircut for free, or commission a painting for free, or ask someone to a fancy restaurant, then demand we go Dutch.

Sync has a developer who I chose to compensate for their work. I would've done the same for connect. I would like people to get compensated for the work they do. It's great to get something for free, but I am not entitled to their free labor.

But somethings are worth paying for.

Tanya Chutkan.

An Obama appointed judge voted in unanimously with McConnell leading the senate.

She's an absolute baddass and she's got no patience for bullshit. She was picked at random, and holds the standard for giving out the harshest sentences to Jan 6ers

Oh the horror, bad American for wanting to support a developer as they launch a new product that is built on the premise of one they used and loved for years.

Instead of supporting a Dev who's proved themselves, we should harbor deep skepticism and try to skate by on a free product for as long as possible because that $5 is really, really, super, duper gonna break the bank if the app isn't absolutely everything I want it to be.

The 80s will always be 20 years ago. Y2k was ten years ago, the 2010s didn't happen and we're both old.
