Still would be nice to have an option straight from Firefox available.

I don't have a problem with Origin, since Firefox stripped of telemetry, ai, and sponsorships is something I'd be happy to pay a one time fee for even if I can disable it.
Having everything stripped from the installer by default from the official source is nice, and lot of projects don't get funding from most users. So offering something like this seems fine with me.
Any scripts you recommend?
Move to ltsc if you have to use Windows. You don't get the updates everyone else gets. Just security updates.
Doesn't seem to rely on old.reddit to retrieve content.
Yeah, everything is getting archived. But, even though your content is archived still in a better situation than one that is still active and drawing more attention among current users who may want to look up the account history.
Redlib is a website so works on desktop. You can subscribe and filter out subreddits and works without an account. And you can save your settings with some random string of text you paste in.
I use libredirect to send me to a redlib instance, since I got tired of clicking a reddit link and seeing the ugly new reddit layout.
I view reddit through redlib instance with wide UI and compact layout which makes it look like old.reddit and at the very least doesn't have all the clutter of new reddit.
https://rosint.dev/ is also a useful site where you can view the comments and posts of users who hide it. Shows deleted comments and posts too.
We didnt change we just switched platforms.
I've been using Windows 11 ltsc and that is stripped down with no Windows Store, onedrive, etc. And it just gets security updates. But, has the one feature I did care about with auto hdr.
If using Windows, ltsc is the only version to use. Stripped of lot of the bullshit by default, no Microsoft store, no onedrive, copilot, etc. Not sure if it is a ltsc feature, but can also uninstall edge.
Whether on 10 or 11, ltsc is the most Windows 7 like experience before Microsoft started pushing Windows Store, preloading programs, and pushing account sign in.
If I have to deal with digital media I prefer to do it on one where hardware configurations are open and operating system isn't locked.
Digital media on a locked hardware platform that doesn't let you load your OS of choice or even programs makes for a more restrictive digital media experience.
