That bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly.

Here's a little known secret: you can still enjoy Lemmy without giving up reddit. I use both. There are some sports subreddits that I am not prepared to walk away from.

I still like "Tell my WiFi love her".

In a weird way I find these kind of jokes nostalgic, because they remind me of when I was a kid reading old comic books, and all the husbands seemed to hate their wives and vice versa.

You really have to wonder what was going through the developer's mind here. Did they just have excess frosted glass they needed to use?

Oh well. Civilisation was nice while it lasted.

Match threads on sporting communities with hundreds of people commenting during the match.

Drinking alcohol. I never enjoyed it, but I used to have a beer when I was out just to fit in. Then I stopped because I realised it made me feel like crap, tasted bad and had no redeeming qualities. Now that I'm older I'm comfortable saying I don't drink.

What an awful situation. I can't imagine how you're feeling.

I like "communities" but the problem is that in a broader context, no one will know what you are talking about. "I saw it in the memes community" sounds too vague. Saying "I saw it on the memes subreddit" is perfectly clear. Because of this, I think "sublemmy" is a better, more descriptive term.

While I agree that Warner is no longer up to Test standard, does Australia have anyone to replace him with?

Harris has already failed in his several chances and would probably be a downgrade. Renshaw was very poor in India. I'm not convinced about Bancroft. Who else is there?

I love these guys. Grab a few seeds from a local park, take them home and watch them sprout.

The Moreton Bay Chestnut (aka black bean tree, or three bean tree) is native to south east Queensland and grows into a large tree, unless kept in a pot.

I have tried these:

  • Jerboa
  • wefwef
  • Liftoff
  • Connect
  • Thunder

After spending some time with each one, I've settled on Liftoff. It has the cleanest, nicest and most configurable UI (IMO), and most things just work. The developer is also actively fixing bugs and making improvements. It's not perfect, but none of them are yet.

I've come from Boost, which pretty much was perfect, and Liftoff seems the closest to it. It will be interesting to see what the Lemmy version of Boost is like.

Instagram is still cool with the kids, which is why this is an "Instagram app" and not a "Facebook app" or a "Meta app".
