Flying to Greece this weekend and it’s my first flight with my OG Steam Deck.

Got Balatro, Vampire Survivors and Chrono Trigger (first play through) loaded up, might also play some RimWorld if I can handle the controls.

I’m tempted by Hades while it’s on sale and I love Dunkey, so Animal Well is also tempting.

What suggestions can y’all make?

Edit: thank you everyone! Went for Hades due to the sale and I love a good rougelike game! Wishlisted a bunch of suggestions and keeping an eye out for a Midnight Suns sale.

Hey everyone

I've got an old Mac Mini running Proxmox, right now all it has is a LXC for Plex and a Debian VM for Docker (OpenVPN/Transmission and Screeps server).

What is everyone's preferred monitoring solution?

I'm mostly interested in getting easy access to syslogs, seeing CPU/RAM/Disk space for the Proxmox host, VM and LXC. I have a Mac app called Daisy Disk that shows me all my data on my disk in a nice UI, something with similar capability would be great.

I randomly installed Netdata, didn't love it. Ran into issues with Cockpit and gave up, but I'd try it again if it's considered the best. But I'd love to hear options, preferably with minimal setup and maintenance (wish is probably wishful thinking). Don't hate Proxmox VE, but I feel like I can do better.

I’m a PS5 player, so I can’t make an impact, but if you did write a negative review (thank you, you made this happen ❤️) please consider taking the time to change it! This was clearly not AH decision and the game deserves an accurate review, it’s easily one of the best games I’ve ever played and definitely the best game as a service!

Edit: woke up to new comments, this post reminded… Lemmy is just the same as Reddit.

Edit2: Christ I need to turn off Lemmy notifications, I’ve left this community and this was a stark reminder for me… don’t engage with a specific game community, just enjoy the fucking game!

As an NYC resident, I can confirm they start at 25% nowadays

Patch performance? (lemmy.world)

Stuck at work today, wanted to get a thread going with the community and see how it’s performing.

Personally I’ve been unable to complete a Difficulty 7 operation without a hard crash. Really hope this has resolved it!

I can hear and smell this photo… why do I suddenly want sweets and fizzy pop?

New patch crashes (lemmy.world)

Sounding like the new patch is pretty buggy. I tried to play a game on level 7 difficulty and got a hard crash. We were trying to do the ore extraction mission on Tibit, the drop ships were insane, totally outnumbered until my game crashed. We’ll see what tomorrow brings, but we might be back to some peak time crashing on the servers. Hopefully a quick patch might happen in the morning.

New bots! (lemmy.world)

We got walkers and flying gunships appearing in game! Joel you crazy son of a bitch!

[-] robalees@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

This is great news, I’ve been busy with my wife’s birthday and I then got sick, so I’ve been playing Bolatro because this game can be stressful AF! But I’m very excited to dive back in this week. Really hope the mech is a bit more sturdy now, when I played Friday, it blew up almost immediately just using the gun and not the rockets. Also the stupid reset issue is finally gone!

44
TROOST at +50% (lemmy.world)

Hopefully I’ll wake up to 50 medals, tried to help the cause this evening, had a few ok games. Also had a game where all squad members bailed or disconnected, running solo against bots is stressful AF. I extracted but died as the pelican was arriving and couldn’t find the samples 🤦🏻‍♂️ then I did an Easy (level 31 on PS5) and got a network disconnect… decided that was enough HD2 for one night!

Random note: I avoid the site that won’t be named whenever I can, but I do find the player feedback/discussion to be helpful on that sub. Could we get more discussion style Lemmy posts going in this community? Get the communities thoughts on new weapons, builds, tactics or just appreciation for the game. I love the memes, I really do, this game is perfect meme fodder… but a stickied post to just shoot the shit about HD2 would be great!

Yeah the thumbnail is wild!

It’s addictive to be at work and watch the progress tick up for VANDALON IV and watching us collectively crush the major order. But it’s giving me serious FOMO when I’m in meetings. Hoping we can crush TROOST tonight and tomorrow! Also the new weapons isn’t helping lol

[-] robalees@lemmy.world 63 points 1 month ago

One of those games I’m glad I bought at launch, although I’ve fired it up 3-4 times and struggled with the mechanics… it’s nice to know it’s still evolving and I can always start fresh again with the new content. If I wasn’t so deep into Helldivers I’d give it another go right now… but Democracy can’t wait!

33

I’ve been leaning on Lemmy communities for coding and self hosting tips. I tend to do most of my browsing on my phone and I’ve noticed Memmy doesn’t show any markdown in posts or comments.

  • Any alternatives to using Memmy that is known to support code markdown?
  • I’m not opposed to switching to the browser, but I don’t find the Lemmy.world layout particularly easy to navigate so I’d prefer an app or a good PWA

Hi Lemmy!

Encountering network stability issues on my Mac mini ("Core i7" 2.3 (Late 2012)) with Proxmox VE (Linux 6.5.13-1-pve). The enp1s0f0 interface (tg3 driver) frequently drops, displaying "Link is down" messages before recovering. This affects my Plex media server and has persisted across different OS installations.

(related posts here and here)

Here are some key excerpts from the logs showing the problem:

  • NETDEV WATCHDOG: enp1s0f0 (tg3): transmit queue 0 timed out
  • tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: transmit timed out, resetting
  • tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is down
  • kernel: vmbr0: port 1(enp1s0f0) entered disabled state
  • kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex

Here is when it's happened

  • journalctl | grep -E "Link is down|Link is up" | grep 'enp1s0f0'
  • Mar 03 00:03:05 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is down
  • Mar 03 00:03:09 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex
  • Mar 03 15:35:30 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is down
  • Mar 03 15:35:34 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex
  • Mar 04 12:43:45 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is down
  • Mar 04 12:43:49 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex
  • Mar 07 09:14:48 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is down
  • Mar 07 09:14:52 macminiserver kernel: tg3 0000:01:00.0 enp1s0f0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex

The issue is super intermittent, but it appears to happen more when I am trying to watch something on Plex (Direct Play to Apple TV), but it looks like it's also happened over night with limited activity. I've also successfully streamed all day on multiple devices, run ping to and from multiple devices, mtr between it and my other Mac and run 16 hours of iperf3 with zero issues!

  • Does anyone have any guidance on how I can determine if this is a hardware issue or could it be driver/kernel related?
  • I've ordered a Plugable USB to Ethernet Adapter to see if I can bypass the NIC and test if something else is the cause, I also needed a good USB to Ethernet adapter so it was time
  • Would an external solution suffice, or is it time for a new system?
  • Should I focus on further diagnostics in a different environment, or is it time to retire this box and get something new?

Happy to share more of my syslog and also my network setup, I'm in a NYC apartment, so my options for changing the environment is limited. I've also not encountered (or noticed) the issue with any of my other devices on the same switch hooked up to the router in the same manner. I have tried a different port and cable so far, but not physically moved it to another switch yet.

I'm getting closer and closer to just buying a Dell Optiplex (probably 11th Gen i7), cannibalize the SSD and trying to play with more services, but my original goal was to learn and host Plex cheaply and easily using this older hardware, but my sanity is running out!

Thanks

Really wish there was a good Lemmy community for Helldivers, I've been back on the "site that shall not be named" to find out updates and see what people are saying. It's easily one of the best games I've played in a long time!

[-] robalees@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

All I want to do is play more Helldivers 2 on PS5. The good and bad news is that everyone else is feeling similar and I know the experience hasn’t been perfect, but I’ve got faith in the developers! I’ve had success with matchmaking and I find the game so much fun when you are in a squad!

[-] robalees@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

Randomly watched the Kindafunny gameplay on Thursday. I was interested because it felt like Division 2 and Starship Troopers had a baby based on the gameplay trailers. Game looked really fun and Greg gave it an initial 5/5 based on a day of playing on stream. Managed to convince my best friend in Australia to pick it up as well on PS5. It’s $40 and I had PS credit, so it felt like a steal.

I’ve been playing all weekend, when I’m not playing, I’m thinking about it. At first matchmaking wasn’t working, I really enjoyed the easy solo missions and then finally on Saturday our timezones aligned and we played doubles. This game is so fun with other people, the accidental friendly fire is hilarious at times and makes you strategic with where you shoot and walk.

It isn’t perfect, visually a little glitchy at times and the climbing is terrible, but I’m excited to unlock the jump pack. I can also see it getting repetitive without new content in the future, fingers crossed they planned ahead.

The battle pass doesn’t feel predatory, you collect the currency while playing and get the premium currency to unlock the paid battle pass. If you play a lot, you likely won’t need to spend any more!

I’ve been playing Cyberpunk and felt uncertain about it, sometimes it has too much going on… this game is mindless fun but also challenging and unpredictable.

Right now it’s my favorite game of the year (early I know). Now the matchmaking works and once my Pulse Elite arrive, this might be my main game for a while!

I started getting Santa Cruz Shredder’s after trying a few different gimmicky grinders. Stay away from the Kannastor GR8TR multiple of them broke on me and the paint chipped off really quick.

[-] robalees@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago

The year before GoW 2018, he released Drawn to Death… PS Plus release that had some cool style but otherwise crap game! He was relevant back in the late 90s and early 2000s… but now his opinion hardly matters and he’s a bit of a drama queen. I don’t really give a shit what he thinks.

Oh boy VS is wild, I’m close to getting all the collectibles and unlocks, it’s such a brutally addictive game! 30 minute chunks of epilepsy inducing chaos!

What you watching? I’ve been doing OG Gundam and I might start Pluto next.
