Yeah — on the rare occasion that I have a night out, when I get home I drink more water than I need to not feel thirsty (about two glasses). Alcohol makes you dehydrated and when you wake up in the morning that makes a hangover massively worse.

Personally I find hangovers worse than the enjoyment of getting drunk, so typically won’t have more than 2/3 drinks anyway \o/

Shit idea in my opinion to blanket ban it. Browsing best of Redditor updates way back when, so many posts were kids looking for an outside perspective on their family — e.g. to recognise signs of abuse; to ask advice on coming out; to ask how to buy contraceptives or to have an abortion; how to deal with suicidal thoughts or bullying. Kids (particularly those that are vulnerable) need a safe space to be able to ask those kinds of questions anonymously, and get answers. Trying to ban social media outright in that age category will just lead to unsafe workarounds.

I wonder if we need a body like the bbc for a social media age to produce a platform with the public good rather than profit in mind.

I did watch it and enjoyed it, but felt it wasn’t quite as good as that Mitchell and Webb look. Certain sketches (e.g. sweary Aussie drama) felt like the same joke repeated, rather than variations on a theme as for e.g. remain indoors, and the pacing didn’t feel quite as snappy. Felt like the ideas — a lot of which landed well — were being stretched a bit further than the original series.

Not to knock it too much, as there was a lot there that I did like, just not quite on the same level for me personally.

A (radio) series I did really enjoy from writers on that earlier series is John Finnemore’s Souvenir programme (esp. the first few series, but I also really loved series 9 even if it wasn’t a traditional sketch format). Def worth a listen.

Does anyone know of good resources for the black side of Bf4 Pirc positions? Nothing on it in Moskalenko’s book (perfect Pirc modern), and it’d be nice to read something on the subtleties of this specific line, as it comes up often vs Jobava players.
