Well, regardless of how you might feel about the just you’re doing, as a frequent user I think you’re doing great. Moderation of any platform is a thankless job. It’s a lot like politics where the people that want moderation power probably aren’t the ones that should have it.

Downvotes. I think they should be on. I know brigading is def a problem. But on the other hand, not having downvotes enabled forces users to rely on reporting everything to a mod instead of letting the downvotes do their job.

The costs and donation stuff. That’s a lot of personal investment without much in return. Once I’m employed again I’d love to help out somehow.

Good luck on the UI stuff. I been on Voyager app on IOS since it launched so I have no opinions.

Keep up the good work amigo!

It costs too much to be out and be social. There is no place for people to congregate that doesn’t require you to spend money. Even churches have $ expectations. In most places the local public library is the last free third space. I know everyone seems to love remote work, but for me remote work forced the place of my biggest stress to be in my house and I hate it. I’ve been mostly remote for the last 13 years and I’ve realized that I need an onsite work place so I can maintain my home as my place of relaxation and escape.

I read a reviewer that said “It’s a beautiful game about space exploration that has no space exploration” and they were completely right. It’s just fallout in space. Who thought Quick Travel the game would be compelling space exploration

Any business that can’t afford to pay its workers a living wage shouldn’t remain in business.

“The Economy” is code for rich people’s wealth. The poors can’t afford to save money which means it’s all in circulation just waiting to be snapped up by the donor class.

I don’t call people who disagree with me fascists. Disagreement is healthy and important. The world would be boring as fuck if we all agreed on everything.

I call people who lick the boots on their own necks fascists. I call people who celebrate fascist ideals fascists. I call people who vote for fascist policies and candidates fascists.

It’s easy to not be called a fascist by not being one.

I hope to vote for her for president someday, assuming she sticks to her values and continues to speak truth to power.

I really want a NSFL tag. I very much do not want to see gore. There are other buckets of things that I’d like to be tagged for ease of filtering. Yiff and Furry art. I fully support those that do want to enjoy that content, I’d just like to be able to filter easier.

I hate that. One of the reasons I dislike Samsung phones. Last phone from them was a Note 8 and unless they go back to a pure Android experience, I won’t get another. We know that isn’t happening any time soon.

Honestly I’m super over all our current choices. Im on an iPhone and while I like their privacy stuff slightly better than android, there are lots of things I don’t like.

I also hate how much metadata the big G snorts up. Even just the location data they retain is out of this world.

There just aren’t any options if you want something that doesn’t keep you boxed into a closed ecosystem or track every love you make.

Burnt Out (lemmynsfw.com)
submitted 1 year ago by norske@lemmynsfw.com to c/adhd@lemmy.world

Like the title says, I am burned out.

Im a 45 year old American male and I don’t even know if I have a formal diagnosis yet. I am currently working with my primary care provider and am seeing a therapist that claims she is a specialist in adult ADHD and it has been months.

I remember as a youngster that my mom took me to the doc for hyperactivity somewhere around 2nd or 3rd grade. Somewhere around 1985 or 1986. That doc said I had ADD but it was probably cause by a sensitivity to “red food dye”. “Don’t let him eat red food and he will be fine”.

It wasn’t fine.

A few years back i was diagnosed with GAD and Depression and was given medication for those which helped me for a short time with depression stuff but didn’t do anything for the root of the problem.

I moved across the country and started working with my current doc and he prescribed Wellbutrin for my depression and said it’s also prescribed for ADHD. It wasn’t doing anything for the depression and I’ve since stopped all meds and now am working with this therapist.

Therapy is going well enough dealing with trauma and those things. But we aren’t doing anything with my ADHD which is my biggest problem.

I can’t focus at work. Executive function is gone and has been for a long time. Every day for like over 2 years is complete task paralysis.

My wife and I use this analogy about spoons to discuss mental capacity for life. Everybody has a certain amount of spoons in their drawer. Tasks and thoughts use up spoons throughout the day. Once the drawer is empty, there’s no more to give until you was some dishes and replenish (nap or a nights sleep or something).

Well I’m out of fuckin spoons and every time I check the drawer there are fewer and fewer spoons to work with.

I really hope there is a path to something resembling “better” because I do t know how much more of this I can take”.
