Way better than a kindle would be whatever size Onyx Boox tablet that works for you. E-ink has come a,long way.

Ishmael by Daniel Quinn is fiction but you're right about it being eye opening, If you're interested in exploring similar concepts but in non-fiction I would recommend:

Civilized to Death by Christopher Ryan

The Culture of Make Believe by Derrick Jensen

A Short History of Progress by Ronald Wright

Well for someone like myself that is low volume Astraweb is great because they offer the option of buying GBs instead of monthly fees.

This is my dream but I doubt it'll ever materialize.

Absolute rubbish. People believing that their vote will bring change ensures climate disaster. The system is rigged and if you agree to participate in the system you are part of the problem. Thinking voting can have any meaningful impact highlights that you are unaware of how serious the situation is.

It's a personal philosophy. There are pros and cons to having kids. I can understand why more people are leaning this way given that it is difficult to believe that things will improve in the future. I don't think it's a stupid philosophy but I don't specifically identify with it.
