yeah sadly this was back when I first got my camera and I was more occupied with figuring out how it worked than with what I was taking a picture, I have like hundreds of photos from that day all from bad angles or with peoples butts in the frame

I think there are ways to just mount your home directly that has your files but I haven't done that, not sure if it had to be setup separate from the beginning or something, I keep my files on a local nas so its easier for me to just wipe my desktop

yeah I started with popOS, used it for about a year, then tried Fedora for a week but figured if Im moving distro to get the latest and dive deeper might as well go with Arch, that lasted like two months with hyprland then decided to try bazzite and its been solid, everything I need is just there already, shortcuts working just like windows so its easy to transition from work laptop to personal, screen shots, lock, mounting network shares etc

I started with popOS but now recommend bazzite if you mainly use your machine for gaming, I just setup a pc for someone and gave them bazzite and now I see them on steam playing games and no complaints. bazzite or maybe fedora, the issues I had with PopOS was just apps being outdated in the app store, like darktable came out with an update and like a month passed and the update still wasnt showing in the app store so I had to use the appimage from the darktable site

what they doing, watching us like this

[–] neatobuilds@lemmy.today 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Its like a big walled circle and they ride motorcycles, bicycles, go karts etc around on the wall, you can reach down with tips and they reach up and grab the money from you as they ride along, they are basically horizontal as they are riding

oh man I used to watch all his stuff, I can't believe I havent watched this one, I remember starting it one day but had no audio so I made a mental note to look it up later when I did. thank you for sharing it and reminding me

oh yeah I only see that icon from the browser where I mostly use it, and stuff really only shows up if your instance pulls the data which is normally doesnt do for mastodon stuff, and no way to follow specific accounts so not much use anyway

the way I do it is open up lemmy on the browser and you can copy the fediverse link and paste it into mastodon to search for it, but federation is a whole thing so not everyone who sees something from their instance sees everything from every instance depending on who is federated with who, so with mastodon and lemmy it gets a little weird. Ive seen some tools that help pull more content that otherwise your instance wouldnt automatically get itself so that you can see more replies etc but I havent messed around with that

I setup my own self-hosted mastodon instance and Im curious if there is a way to setup scheduled posts with it? or if I need some other tool.
I know some mobile and desktop apps, along with some websites let you do that, but it would be much nicer if it was just built in so I could do it from the browser and not have to worry if my phone app or laptop is on during the scheduled time.
Does anyone have experience with schedules posts?

These are some tostadas I made with ground beef

First I smother sour cream on the tostadas

Here they are with ground beef and cotija cheese

Then I top them with some cabbage mix

For the cabbage I basically get a bowl and pour some white vinegar, chop some onion and jalapeño or serrano and squeeze some lemon juice and let it sit a bit to flavor the vinegar.

Then I shred some cabbage and toss in some tomato, salt pepper and oregano and mix it all around and put it on the tostadas.
Then if we have some avocados we toss some on top and pour valentina or tapatio

Made a focus stack of some stick I found while on a walk, I guess my lens was a bit dirty so the dirty spot got repeated a few times since it was hand held

Got inspired by yesterdays darktable workflow to finally export a photo. This is from a 2024 airshow in San Francisco. Im still figuring out Darktable and all the tools it provides

I used my Sony A7R III with a Nikon lens adapter and a Nikon 400/3.5 lens.
