Well, there's the thing, you need a browser. You'd be surprised how many newer Reddit users access the site primarily or even exclusively on their phones, and who tend to use apps rather than their mobile browser.

It got mentioned a lot on /r/RedditAlternatiives and since its API is already up and running, there are a whole bunch of apps for it. With mobile apps being the thing that started the whole Reddit disaster, it makes sense that Lemmy would grow quicker than kbin which doesn't have mobile apps yet.
Anything that lets them pretend things are going just fine and user activity has never been higher. Especially if the bots view ads.
Rise of Nations. It's like Civilization but as a real-time strategy game and I really enjoy it. Microsoft actually released an updated edition in 2014 which was good of them but I basically never hear anyone actually talk about it which sucks because it's such a cool game. The single-player Conquer the World campaigns are also cool, and have some elements reminiscent of the classic Risk board game.
There's also Star Trek: Bridge Commander, which is often mentioned in discussions of "what Star Trek games were good?" but not much outside of that context. It strikes a perfect balance between having starship combat that really feels like you're commanding a ship with a lot of mass behind it and actually being fun and easy for an average person to pick up and play (which is where stuff like the X Universe games fall down). There are tons of "space fighter" games out there but I've never really seen anything that captures space capital ship combat as well as Bridge Commander.
The users Facebook deserves. Zuck can keep them, somehow I think we'll do just fine without these outrage-farming reactionaries.
That or a starry-eyed optimist who hasn't heard of XMPP and thinks Mark "they 'trust me', dumb fucks" Zuckerberg is really engaging with ActivityPub on anything resembling a good-faith basis.

The Sega Saturn did a lot worse than the PlayStation outside of Japan, even compared to the Nintendo 64 - only about 2 million Saturns are thought to have been sold in the United States. And over time the disc drives have been failing on them from age. Doesn't help that Sega stopped making Saturns back in early 1998, long before the Nintendo 64 (2002) and original PlayStation (2006) were discontinued.
Combine that with the ever-growing retro gaming hobby/bubble, and now a lot of the working ones are, by this point, in the hands of enthusiasts of the system who don't really intend to sell, or collectors who would want a lot of money for them.
I definitely agree with Yahtzee that in retrospect the "PC Gaming Master Race" name didn't work out because the targets of the pejorative (as in elitist anti-console jackasses, not PC gamers as a whole) took it as an unironic badge of honour. "PC Gaming Dickslurp All-Stars" was funny.
The pile of different dumb awards like "wholesome" or those expensive diamond things.
If you want one for your phone, Feedly is pretty good. On desktop, I use Liferea.
Bridge Commander's modding scene is something else. So many cool ships, graphics overhauls, and even mods that added new mechanics like saucer/multi-vector separation. Truly amazing how much you can mod that game, even if it does get pretty unstable.
