I mean, it is probably not a bad idea to take a look at one of the most well-loved DEs for ideas.. and Gnome did take only good things from it and my subjective opinion is that they have a proper vision taking many of the good things from OSX.

Memory is an implementation detail. You are interested in solving problems, not pushing bytes around, unless that is the problem itself. In 99% of the cases though, you don’t need guns and knives, it’s not a US. school (sorry)

HttpClient. You don’t necessarily need a third-party tool for rest calls or the like, and it really is quite handy!
