I've tried it before. I didn't like it much. It was not very good at matching games to my set even with metadata in the filenames. Also, the AppImage simply fails to run on NixOS because of assumptions it makes about the system running it. I've been using Gamevault instead which has been great especially since they added a way to access Gamevault and download games through just a web browser.

Steam Machines are available here in my area. Instead, I repurposed a small form factor machine I already had that was much more powerful anyways that has a built in graphics card. At the time I purchased it a few years ago, it was about $1000CDN, the Minisforum Neptune HX99G.
