I bought a Switch 2 and used it to play Donkey Kong and Mario Kart. They were fun, but now there's no more games for it really.

There's no new Switch 2 games even lined up right now as far as anyone's concerned. And they decided it's better to remake Star Fox again rather than make a new one, it felt like a bit middle finger.

At this point in time, with how expensive the Ayn Thor has gotten and the downgrade from UFS 4.0 to 3.1 (WITH a simultaneous price increase), that console is dead to me personally, unless prices return to normal (which won't happen).

However, the future of portable gaming is absolutely in ARM based consoles. Given that the upcoming Steam Frame will come with ARM to x86 translation (FEX), I think that Valve is also aware of this, and that the Steam Frame is the tip of the iceberg and will act as a sort of testing ground for ARM.

I'm hoping that Valve creates a variant of the Steam Deck that runs on an ARM-based chip, in addition to a true Steam Deck successor console running on a normal AMD processor and GPU. I think that Android also adds unnecessary overhead when gaming (latency and CPU cycles), and SteamOS is a great answer to that problem.

While I think Ayn is currently out of reach price wise, more competitors will begin to pop up making similar things (e.g. Retroid Pocket Flip 2).

Disgusting. This is my representative, I unfortunately voted him in.

Our president is a pedophile and we still get the "for the children" bullshit. How about making a law requiring tracking the data on the Epstein class phones instead?

I sent a letter to him, hopefully enough people do.

I never trusted ProtonMail. Right when you sign up, you're constantly bombarded with advertisements to upgrade to pro. They're plastered everywhere with obnoxious banners.

I get that they're a business and they need money to operate, but the ads are so obnoxiously "in your face" that in my mind their priority isn't your privacy, it's your money.

Tutamail is the better service.

Firefox has plugins to spoof specific tabs as always active.

I think you mean, X should be nationalized like our social security numbers have been. It's only fair, the piece of shit who runs it is the only reason that even happened, why not keep things fair?

I bought a lifetime subscription years ago, and even if the payment method got decrypted, it's well expired. Not to mention I haven't had a Plex server running for ages.

MediaTek or Qualcomm chips will be used probably, but to order cutting edge chips they'd need to order pretty high volumes to keep prices down, so the chip they order will probably be older. Though the Pixel 5 was one of my favorite phones, so if they can keep that level of speed on Android 16 then I'm all for it.

Part of what pisses me off is that Tesla doesn't use LiDAR, it uses cameras. So in sub optional conditions, like the ones where it kills people, LiDAR would resolve those outlier cases.

But he'll never do that because he likes how his own farts smell.

You are exactly correct

That's hilarious though ngl

But this man never needs to worry about anything anymore. I'd probably "work every day" knowing that I have the pleasure of stopping whenever I want, and having everything you could ever want right at your fingertips at any given moment.

Currently, you are unable to view the APKMirror web page. Instead, you get the following message shown in the screenshot below.

Tiktok downloads are currently blocked in the United States due to the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.

The link in this statement leads to the following page, containing the bill that was passed:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/7521

This sets a dangerous precedent going forward for the Android community which sideloads applications onto their phones, being that APKMirror is the largest mirror of APKs for Android phones. It's also possible for them to add more apps to be included under this bill, and possible for another bill to be passed which may act as an even more broad blanket to target specific groups of people (e.g. LGBTQ+, people of color), messaging applications that are truly secure (e.g. Signal), and so on.

Then of course there a very real possibility of our president forcing the integration of software updates into both Android (and possibly even iOS smartphones) that can forcibly remove applications for the "sake of national security".

Hey guys!

It's almost time again for the latest and greatest iterations of Pixel devices, where Google will show off their newest hardware and software upgrades to the masses.

The event will debut on October 4th at 10 AM EST (https://dateful.com/convert/est-edt-eastern-time?t=10am&d=2023-10-04), showcasing what's to be the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and likely the Pixel Watch 2.

Rumors indicate signs pointing to a new Tensor chip in the Pixel devices, temperature sensors, Magic Audio removal features for video clips, and even a Qualcomm-based chip in the Pixel Watch 2.

Feel free to watch the event and sign up to be notified when it's live, at the following YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxlaUCJZ27E

See you all soon!

I've been searching all over for a computer or tablet with long battery life, and a tablet mode or detachable keyboard. I've been wanting to take notes and watch videos in portrait mode split screen while I'm out and about.

Firstly, not even the $800 iPad Pro can do split screen in portrait mode. I don't know why, but I'm not surprised it's something that Apple has overlooked.

So that leaves you with the option to either get a Surface Pro computer with an i5 or i7 processor with a maximum of 4 hours of battery with these Surface computers, OR you get something like a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 which has an ARM processor and 11 hours of battery, but the problem is that these Galaxy Tab devices are wildly overpriced and OneUI isn't exactly my cup of tea.

Only Surface Pro 9 laptops with SQ3 exist, and these are also (shocking!) wildly overpriced. Of course, the 2023 Microsoft Surface Go 4 ARM model was scrapped in favor of an Intel processor, meaning battery life is out the door once again. Until battery life on these Surface computer is at minimum 6-7 hours I won't even look in their direction.

What gives? Is there any other computer or tablet I'm missing that exists? I don't want to spend much more than $800 or so on a device that I'd only use for specialized purposes; I'd buy refurbished but it's still completely insane to spend any more than that.
