Much as i dislike cryptobros in general one feature Nostr has implemented well is the ability to "zap" tips to posters in small amounts like 5 or 10 cents, which is probably 10x or 100x more then any corporate advertising network would pay for ad views.

Personally i cant tolerate ads at all, its a hard line for me, i consider advertising offensive, but im more then happy to send a few cents or dollars to individuals just for putting out quality content.

Yeah it was basically denying the existence of gay people and instead forcing them to be trans, not exactly the progressive move it sounds like.

Guess it runs in the family

Gotosocial is basically that.

I ended up going with akkoma for my instance, its not just for single user setups but its simpler then mastodon with more customizability.

Nostr is also something you might want to look into, its a pretty neat system.

Interesting considering grapheneOS does not actually support rooting.

How do you think it would play out if proton refuses lawful orders from a court in the country they operate in?

I do think proton does a lot of misleading advertising, but its still on the user to research and have good opsec. Paying with a card when crypto is an option, using the same service for both email and a vpn, using that service from a public wifi near where you are known to live while actively doing crimes.. Proton is running a business not a criminal protection racket.
