No they aren't. I live in a rural area and independents are basically moderate Democrats without the branding. It's the only way to win local elections without being in the GOP. And they do win elections pretty regularly

Lol, the house and Senate don't get to refuse anything. The states send their representatives to Congress and they became the new Congress in January. This isn't a special election.
They're going to win control of at least the house, and from then on Trump will be a lame duck president. Any play at martial law won't work and will just make Trump look like even more of a pathetic joke, they would need many millions of people in the army to actually enforce it and they don't have anywhere near that.
