yeah, I am a huge valve fan and love everything they put out. It's the perfect emulator machine for me, I can move everything over from my pc to this

you can transfer data over the internet securely (HTTPS) but still have access to their api and get data you shouldnt be able to get (as they've detailed)

they'll have this cleaned up in no time, stuff like this happens frequently in cybersecurity. I guarantee you that now this has gone viral, they've probably secured the API on their end

I say let this place grow organically. nobody that doesn't want to be here is here, which is great imo

if you're going to stay on internet web forums, you need to start curating your subscription lists with only things you 100% enjoy. don't subscribe to any news communities (tech, medical, political etc)

exercise. don't have to lift weights, but taking yourself out for a quick 10 minute walk will do you wonders. you can up the amount of time you walk around once you start feeling better

and, of course, surround yourself with positive people. best piece of advice I've ever gotten was to never let anyone "outnice" me. the scumbags will, of course, take advantage, but they have shown their hand and you can alter your kindness to them accordingly. the genuinely good people, on the other hand, will reciprocate those acts and life gets better for both of you.

good luck and let me know if you have any other questions. you got this! 🙂

I just downloaded summit. I can vote and do other things but I couldnt comment.

Here's the error:

LemmyAction failed. Cause: com.idunnololz.summit.lemmy.actions.LemmyActionFailureReason.UnknownError. Details: UnknownError(errorCode=401, errorMessage=Not signed in)

after some investigating, I tried posting this on the mobile client and saw an error that said im not allowed to post because I am on a VPN. turned my VPN off, tried posting my comment in the app, then it worked.

just thought you should know this error is incorrect and sent me down a rabbit hole. maybe there's something you can do to update this on your end? not sure though...

have a great day! love the app so far

I would just like to express my gratitude to everyone for sending me down a rabbit hole of research after reading many comments and relating to almost every single meme that was posted.

After my diagnosis, I have a plan moving forward to help better my decisions and what I should do next. Do it if you are questioning and can afford it, is what I would say!

Has anyone experienced crashing on startup? it crashes almost instantly after I use biometric login.

My client version is v23.11.29-22:27.

I saw someone with a blue person with a 🚫 next to it and have no idea what it means
