I tried the Star Trek Adventures recently and liked it. It felt like a middle ground between FATE games and Cortex games. Worth a shot for anybody on the fence.

This guy would love Bionicle lore.

Gotta lean hard in the other direction to flip the gaslighting onto him. If he says he paid for your college then start insisting you never went to college. If he says you owe him for keeping your car running during X-Y years then tell him you didn't even own a car.

More seriously, though, my mom was the same way. Hers was due to being extremely manipulative instead of memory issues. Either way you aren't going to get through. Better to start distancing yourself now until you've reached a level of contact that isn't detrimental to you. If that eventually means no contact then so be it; they bring it on themselves and you owe them nothing.

Rural and suburban areas often only get one ISP in the US. Comcast specifically is infamous for using scummy practices to get (and then legally enforce) local monopolies. So the odds are not in OPs favor.

If you talk to old ladies this is a return to the old ways. Some will tell you about helping their friend dump a baby in the woods when they were a teenager.

It's easy to assume the people doing this are heartless, but I think most are traumatized by the act. It's depressing that we are bringing back an environment where this feels like the only way out for some.

Up until this article I legitimately assumed that's what was happening in the image. I don't understand what message the suspect was trying to send, but the investigators seem confident it was intentional, I guess.

You may like the show Dark, if you haven't already seen it.

The reason time depends on speed is because you are always moving at the speed of light, but the vast majority of that is going in the 4th dimension: time. If you speed up in a given direction you're losing speed through time to make up for it.

Agreed. There are really only two reasons managers do that. Either they want to deny raises or they want to fire you. Both need a paper trail, and neither is affected by what they say to coworkers. Either way it's time to interview with other companies.

7 hours from my Dad, unfortunately, and 7.5 hours from my in-laws. Most likely 9 hours from my Mom, but that's only if I trust the rumors. Still keeping the doors locked, just in case.

I think this is my favorite. Bringing a wad of fast food napkins makes you seem like a lazy bum. Tupperware lets everyone know you're a cunning mooch.
