Exacly, I see on reddit so much mental gymnastics. They really believe this will magicly be all over with the midterms. Not taking in account there could be rampant interference of election results, straight up denial of its validation and investigate (that will never happen) or straight up cancel them.
They don't think about 'what do we do if this perp, that doesn't follow the rules, does not follow the rules'
It is mind boggeling. But then again, as an western european, we have been spoonfed to actually resist for our rights in a progressive manner, which may include some forms of violence (against property or verbally), just short of ceasing others existence. But knowing other frenchmen, they wouldn't shy from that if push comes to shove. It is far from perfect. But this just would not fly here. Paris would burn to the ground and the guillotine undusted.
America is unable to function by itself and is on tour to implode. How are they going to win a war, no one in the country is willing to put up a real fight either.
It is the most divided political landscape on the planet right now, on the brink of a potentional civil war, which is the only fight they will do if they decide to grow a spine.
