Advice on getting into IT without a degree (hexbear.net)
 

I was going to a Community College but then I got told to kick sand for fiananical aid and... now Im not able to go to school anymore :/ (long story there made short, tried everything I could but nothing worked out)

I've been working on getting some coursera certificates and studying for the CompTIA certificate but I'm wondering if I'm even going to have a shot at landing a job without a degree to help me out.

I know about Windows Server Management (worked a shit ton with VMs in classes) daily drive Linux, do some real amateur game development on the side on my own so I know how to code, not great but I have experience there. Any advice on how to give myself a better shot?

Should mention that I do live in a big ass blue state city if thats helpful, and I am trans-fem but I seem to pass well enough to not get misgendered but still a little weary about putting myself out there >_>

I have been considering it but as a transgender american, theres a bit of heistation for me to actually go through with this. For my part I'm all caught up legally on this so stealth could be done but still. Its rough enough being a foreigner and a transgender all in one :/

Been reading through my usual posts and this thought popped up in my head. Did a bit of searching and now I'm curious what y'all's analysis is on this. And how potentially the CCP will respond to climate related consequences in the coming decades since they are becoming an increasingly massive superpower and their actions will have global impacts for the rest of the world.

To be honest, everything that happened in the last month or so gave me a royally good kick in the ass to do the shit I've putting off for a long time, 2025 will very much be the year of "Fuck it, we ball" at least for me.

This is true and I do apologize for having slipped up on this. I did a bit more research and came across this pretty decent read up on this github repo by Dessalines: why_not_signal.md that covers this issue in much better detail and provides alternatives. The only one I'm familiar with outside of Signal is Matrix which can be self hosted giving you a lot of leeway in protecting your own data and only requires you to use an email of which you can use a burner email to avoid connecting your identity to anything.

Reader View should work on most websites that block you from reading with popups. Heres the summary: Use Signal which is End to End encrypted to communicate instead of using your built in phone apps to communicate via phone calls and text messages. WhatsApp and appearently FaceTime are recommended for communicating but I personally wouldnt trust those ~~two~~ three. Hope this helps.
