To prevent you from renting a new apartment, mostly. Go in with an eviction on your record and try to get a place and you'll mostly just be denied.

He got that look in his eyes.

Mine:

In a fun piece of trivia, I was looking up Katee Sackhoff because I was trying to find out who did the voice for Bitch Pudding on Robot Chicken and then laughed my ass off when I realized it was the same lady who played Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian. I really need a Robot Chicken sketch with Bo-Katan going all Bitch Pudding on the Mando now. BLAM!

The difference is the rock climbing involves an inanimate object, the rock face. You are a thinking being that can make decisions and are choosing to risk their life over a petty crime.

Says the clearly uneducated fuckwit. Good show. Also semantic only has one m.

But, reasonable moral thing to do.

We frankly are just going to continue to disagree on that point. Say you punch the assailant and they go down in one blow, cracking their head on the pavement and dying. Did they really deserve a death penalty for petty theft? An extrajudicial death penalty no less. I don't think so. Thus, I don't think it's reasonably moral to risk it.

In another comment you talk about fascists taking over the world, yet here you are, spouting what a fascist would say in regards to private property, while a socialist would understand the difference between personal property and private property and understands the dangers of the latter. Get educated, schlub. You're spouting the kind of idiocy that enabled the fascists to take over.

Also I'm in my forties living with cancer in the USA where the treatments cost $18k a month without insurance. Dear god I only wish I had mommy and daddy taking care of me.

I don't know about you, but my wallet only holds plastic cards... All of which can be cancelled, replaced, and any money spent by the thief returned and restored. The only thing it takes up is a small amount of my personal time. So I really haven't lost anything at all. I don't know why you're so geared up to fuck someone up over such a small inconvenience.

Lmao, you are a fucking tool.

No individual should be expected to use insurance to protect themselves from theft as a solution to it. That’s a crazy take.

Then I really don't understand what you're saying here. Insurance coupled with wiping your device remotely makes you whole and renders your device unusable to the person who stole it (sometimes it even leaves you with a nicer, more current device). It's not like the police do much more to help an individual with theft, even when you can show them where your device is with Find My Device enabled. Sometimes you might get lucky and they'll go retrieve it and allow you to press charges, but that's pretty rare, frankly.

I still maintain this a better solution than trying to beat the shit out of someone, possibly failing and ending up hospitalized or dead yourself.

It feels like it's the other way around, from my end. Natural disasters don't stop happening, and crime doesn't stop happening, ergo, having insurance for both is reasonable.

"I'm really not here to represent any candidate," Paterson said.

"I'm just here to villify the one who actually won the fucking primary because fuck democracy, y'all. We own your asses, we call the shots, and like hell are we gonna let you people change that!"

I have cancer. I'm open about it. This medicaid funding shit could literally kill me.

I am so sick of people suggesting I should "pull a Luigi" or "go out like a hero" because they still have things to lose so they don't want to stand up and lose them. So because I'm gonna die, I should say fuck it and risk it all for a bunch of jerks who wouldn't and haven't done the same for me?

Do you have any idea how disrespectful that is to people who are already suffering? When nobody is standing up to sacrifice themselves to save the weak, broken, sick, and disabled? Why's it our job to save the able bodied? Why can't these people see that even though they think their heart is in the right place, they're still basically telling us "your life sucks anyway and will end soon, you should throw it away for the rest of us who never did anything for you" or more simply "kys."

I'm officially tired of this inconsiderate and frankly ableist bullshit.

Honestly, I wish some mods or admins would make some rules about it since it's ableist.

i found this vhs called "Punch Punch Forever" (パンチパンチフォーエバー) in my dads basement in a box labelled "DO NOT OPEN" but he only wrote that on the box because there was a big scary rat in there and the rat bit me when i went to grab the tape and now i'm blind in my left eye.

finally got around to digitizing and uploading it though! enjoy! this one is labelled as "episode 1 of 62,737"

Gogo Matsumoto, an 11-year old aloof martial arts prodigy, along with her half-demon older sister; Nono, her mama; Mama, and her cool pet frog; Coolfrog, embark to compete in a martial arts tournament that pits humans against a near-infinite barrage of demons from another realm called the Akumugai. If a human can come out triumphant, they will be granted a wish from the Akumugai's warlord, Emperor Koro. Can Gogo overcome this impossibe challenge? If so, will she wish for a big, like REALLY big hambrguger? I hope so!

Out of them was produced a secret handbook developed on how to break down prisoners. The key was using shock to reduce adults to a childlike state.

OK, maybe you wouldn't pay three grand for a Project DIGITS PC. But what about a $1,000 Blackwell PC from Acer, Asus, or Lenovo?

Besides, why not use native Linux as the primary operating system on this new chip family? Linux, after all, already runs on the Grace Blackwell Superchip. Windows doesn't. It's that simple.

Nowadays, Linux runs well with Nvidia chips. Recent benchmarks show that open-source Linux graphic drivers work with Nvidia GPUs as well as its proprietary drivers.

Even Linus Torvalds thinks Nvidia has gotten its open-source and Linux act together. In August 2023, Torvalds said, "Nvidia got much more involved in the kernel. Nvidia went from being on my list of companies who are not good to my list of companies who are doing really good work."
