I don't have any experience being a mod but I do work in a high-level position for a semi-national corporation. Their sites are plastered with video ads, more traditional ads and the increasingly popular 'please support us! We're poor! Turn off your ad blocker or just go I guess'. The length of articles means you stay on the page longer and see more ads.
