FWIF I've tried TickTick and Todoist with paid plans, Google Tasks, Microsoft Todo and probably a few other free apps, and personally have settled on HedgeDoc for lists and Telegram for reminders. Nothing beats their simplicity and reliability.
Also look into the Xiaomi flagships. Xiaomi 13 can be had for around £700 if you're willing to shop around, while the last gen Xiaomi 12 is listed for under £400 on the official Mi UK store. Here's the size comparison to your Pixel if you're curious.

To be fair, most first world countries seem to have settled on 18 for all of this. I think the wrong assumption is that the age limits are related to each-other, while they've been brought into law at different points in history and there hasn't been a need to change them. There are also the environmental factors, such as the driving age in the USA probably being lower as a consequence of a car-centric culture.

You say you're using QuickConnect, do you know if you're getting a direct connection to your NAS or one through QuickConnect relay service? Maybe try opening the required ports and checking again.

Yandex browser also has chrome extensions and is actually supported by a big company (that may or may not be affiliated with Russian government, but whether or not that affects you personally depends on your threat model).

My current Xiaomi phone has an IR blaster, but what I miss is having an IR receiver as well, trying 100 random remotes to find which one works with your obscure TV/AC is such a pain when you used to be able to just clone one instead.
