Pete Hegseth asked U.S. Navy Admiral Alvin Holsey to retire in October after Holsey expressed concerns about the legality of the Trump administration’s boat bombings in the Caribbean, according to a new report.

On Wednesday, the _Wall Street Journal_published a report that cited two unnamed Pentagon officials, who said Hegseth asked the admiral to step down in “a de facto ouster that was the culmination of months of discord between Hegseth and the officer” after Holsey expressed “concerns about the legality of lethal strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean.”

Shortly after, Hegseth announced that Holsey – the commander of U.S. Southern Command – would be retiring.

There's literally only seven words I don't say on the internet and they are shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits.

I'm in the waiting room right now for my weekly clean-out.

My iPhone keyboard is my favorite.

I have a pretty nice mechanical keyboard but I usually cast my phone keyboard.

If people wanted a high-end couch gaming PC they would just build or buy that.

This is supposed to be comparable to the current-generation consoles and it seems to be right there.

Ninety-nine insight.

Costco's lawsuit urges the federal trade court to declare Trump's 'emergency' tariffs illegal, an authority the president says he has under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Two lower courts have already ruled that Trump exceeded his authority by using emergency powers to impose tariffs.

The case has now reached the Supreme Court, and several companies are trying to protect their rights to refunds should the justices strike down the tariffs.

In the lawsuit filed over the Thanksgiving holiday, Costco said its business had suffered because of the tariffs and was concerned it wouldn't get its money back even if the apex court upheld previous rulings.

Lawyers for Costco said a "separate action is necessary" as a refund is not guaranteed "in the absence of their own judgment and judicial relief".

US President Donald Trump has commuted the sentence of former investment manager David Gentile, who was just days into a seven-year prison sentence for fraud.

Bureau of Prisons records show that Gentile was released on Wednesday, less than two weeks after he reported to prison.

Gentile, the former chief executive and founder of GPB Capital, was convicted last year in what federal prosecutors described as a multi-year scheme to defraud more than 10,000 investors by misrepresenting the performance of private equity funds.

He's the latest in a string of white-collar criminals whose sentences Trump has commuted.

Gentile was convicted in August last year of securities and wire fraud charges, and sentenced in May. His co-defendant, Jeffry Schneider, was sentenced to six years on the same charges and is due to report to prison in January.

how to be hot in winter? 😭

In a 26th floor courtroom overlooking Manhattan’s frigid winter skyline, dozens of immigrants sat in on the trial of their former president, the once untouchable symbol of a “narco-dictatorship” that reorganized of the government’s judicial, police, and military leadership to collude with drug traffickers.

It wasn’t Nicolás Maduro — though the Venezuelan president had likewise been indicted in the Southern District of New York. It was Juan Orlando Hernández, the former Honduran president who, as U.S. prosecutors said in their closing arguments in 2024, “paved a cocaine superhighway” to the United States. In a monthlong trial we covered from New York that winter, Hernández was convicted of three counts of drug trafficking and weapons charges, earning him a 45-year prison sentence.
