i went with mint which may or may not have been a mistake, its all nice and easy now its installed, but after all the dual boot drama with bios vs uefi i ended up having to reinstall it five times because every time i tried to install the recommended nvidia drivers it locked up completely and refused to even boot, somehow the solution to my system refusing to boot was to switch my monitor cable from displayport to hdmi lol wtf

hoi4 mods and their consequences have been a disaster for the human race

I particularly like the ones where they go through and spend millions on the redesign and millions more updating all their stationary and signage etc etc and it goes through hundreds of internal people and nobody says anything, and then the first person from the public sees it and says "that looks like a dick lol"

Given that so many logo redesigns cost huge amounts of money and end up being some minor change like this, I do wonder whether this isn't just kinda a standard thing to have pages of grandiose nonsense to justify paying millions for a change of font or whatever, and this was just the unfortunate one that got leaked

But yeah, absolutely phenomenal grift, it's hard not to be a little impressed

Also the same problem as New Vegas, you can have the best writing and the best voice acting, but it is 100% impossible to take any of it seriously when it's coming from Oblivion faces

There's the first part of a free update/prequel out now with a new map (I think they're planning three parts), and it's a bit more friendly to you staying put in the middle of the map and spending ages building yourself a luxury mudbrick mansion

Yeah I've also been trying but it really hasn't clicked for me

More focused on the survival than the crafting side, but I've really been "enjoying" Green Hell lately. Something about how manual and tactile and just hard the crafting is makes it really satisfying when you manage to carve out even the most limited camp for yourself
