This is the start of some nasty privacy violating shit. But the average people are going to eat it because of convenience and then wonder why shit keeps getting worse for their privacy.

She’s been outed as not being the nice person she appears to be on TV. There was a big controversy a few years ago that some of her crew had a lot of stories about her behaviors behind the camera that show that she wasn’t such a nice person to the people who helped make her show a reality.

I don’t remember specifics, but it’s not hard to find if you go looking for videos or articles on it. From what I remember, it was the typical diva sort of behaviors like don’t look her in the eye and being rude to others. Nothing too too serious like sexual assault but still not nice stuff and people view her as a phony since.

There were also some things she did to guests like when she “forced” Mariah Carey to reveal she was pregnant by offering her alcohol and Mariah basically had to admit she was pregnant as to why she wouldn’t drink alcohol. Kind of a shitty thing to do to someone.

Guaranteed that amount is a drop in the bucket to what they “saved” by denying all these claims made by their paying customers.

Fuck all insurance companies.

I know the pain, but both of those touchless options always suck. The water never stays on or doesn’t turn on unless you motion in one specific weird spot that’s either too close or too far away. And those dryers never dry your hands well enough. I’m grateful they never had touchless doors in the same way.

Though I have seen newer foot style doors that have a small piece of metal at the bottom you can “grab” and pull open.

I bought a brand new 4GB off Amazon last year that is supposedly made by Sandisk. Seems legit and been using it with one of my 3D printers.

Impossible to find them in any brick and mortar store anymore. It’s so dumb because they come in handy and I hate thinking of wasting larger drives with so many writes.

Now is the perfect time with memory being so expensive.

As much as I’d love to recommend Linux, this may be solved by doing a fresh Windows install. Get the Windows ISO from Microsoft and try that. It’ll be without the HP bloat, but will have Microsoft’s bloat. If you want any specific HP bloat you had, you likely can get it from HP’s support website and searching for drivers based on your serial number or using their tool if they have one. Here’s the link to Microsoft’s ISO for Windows 11 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

All subscriptions inevitably turn to shit

Try the “forgot your password” link on his iCloud account. When you go to iCloud.com, there’s a link there for it. There might be some way that you can reset the iCloud account and get in that way. Most of these methods have you verify you own the account like a link in an email or text to the phone or something. Worth a try to see especially since you physically have the phone.

If he left his iPhone with the messages showing on the screen even when locked, you may be lucky and get to send a text to the phone and get a code to reset the iCloud account that way.

Either that or going through Apple may be your best bet since the pics are likely backed up to his Apple’s iCloud. Apple gives everyone free 5GB so surely there’s something there even if he didn’t pay for it or it lapsed after his passing.

I got this idea from the San Bernardino shooters years ago. Apple refused to help the FBI hack into the phone but said they would help if the FBI let the phone back up to iCloud at night like this because it’d be on their servers and technically theirs to comply with.

So it seems this might be some type of legitimate way of getting stuff out of an iPhone like this by Apple’s own admission. I just checked and Apple does have an article on this exact situation and what they can and cannot do https://support.apple.com/en-us/102431

My condolences to you and your family. Good luck getting those pictures.

There’s a decent chance that the iPhone syncs to iCloud each night. It’s a feature Apple kind of snuck onto people and most people don’t change. Photos are one of those things that gets backed up during this time.

Thing is, you need to get it connected to WiFi that it has connected to before and just leave it on the charger, probably best to do this over 48 hours and then try getting in. The backups usually happen at night time.

If you know the WiFi where he lived but can’t access it, you could trick the iPhone into thinking it’s the same WiFi by creating that same WiFi signal name and password and the iPhone will connect to that new hotspot you create with the same instructions. If it’s valuable enough to you, you could buy a router and set it up on yours at home with that information or go cheap and set it up on your phone’s hotspot. If you don’t know that one, any other WiFi network it once connected to should do. It just only works over WiFi at night.

Once that happens, you can try resetting his password on iCloud.com and see if that lets you in. Or see if Apple can help you getting into the iCloud account with his death certificate. I’m not sure on that last part, might need to check into it before asking just to make sure they don’t lock you out of it or something.

You may not even have to do the WiFi trick, it might already have backed up everything already and you can try getting into this iCloud account now and see if the pictures are there. They’re accessible over any web browser on any operating system.

I’m fine with not buying any Sony games if they’re just going to lock them on PlayStation consoles.

Sony hasn’t always had the best track record of standing behind their hardware with devices such as the PS Vita or PS Move. And even more successful projects like the PSVR1, those games aren’t compatible with PSVR2 hardware. So you bought a bunch of games that can only ever be played and dependent on you having old hardware that’s no longer manufactured or supported.

I don’t have faith that my purchases will be as long lasting with PlayStation like they are with Steam where I still have games I bought nearly 20 years ago and work to this day.

Lmao pay Google for a problem they created. Get fucked sucker

I gave up on ever being able to use Wayland while having this Nvidia GPU. That sounds promising.

Inspired by WaBa Grill, except their cut of the beef. I was at the grocery store and grabbed the quickest cut I found which was taco beef. But this turned out really well! Very delicious.

I remember a time when the news would refuse to show something and I’d go to YouTube to see the uncensored clip.

But today I was reminded of how bad YouTube has gotten when a YouTube video censored a news clip because the anchor said “died”.

And this has led to the dumb trend of new terms like “unalive” and “self delete” like that makes it any different. It just moves to the next term that the algorithm will pick up on and lead to another dumb term to avoid the censors.

But for what? Like we did we get to this point? Who gives a fuck if they talk about suicide or death and it’s in context? Someone could be talking about a serious topic like their failed attempt and warning someone to not try it and that video gets removed/hidden. Good job, YouTube.

I’ve been making some videos too and it’s stupid the things I’ve had to avoid just to ensure my hard work doesn’t get hidden or removed because YouTube doesn’t like a term I used, even if it was in proper context. I’m not even getting paid for my videos but I don’t want my hard work going in vain. I release my videos on multiple platforms and it makes me want to skip YouTube, altogether, but I only keep it because it’s the most popular.

It’s so fucking stupid. The internet used to be the place to go to get the real story without unnecessary censors.

It’s been quite the journey in finally getting to see one.

All my life, I had never heard an owl “who” until a few years ago and it was so cool. Better than I could have ever imagined. I love all types of birds. We have a lot of hawks in my area that I love seeing often along with the other birds everyone is quite familiar with. Seeing them glide above and hearing their screeches is such an awesome experience.

Back in school, we did dissect owl droppings and even glued the skeletons to form a complete rodent skeleton on a piece of paper.

I have found owl droppings here too.

Then there was one time when we to let the dogs out and they were making a ton of noise. In the trees, I could see a big brown bird with a huge wingspan silently move from one branch to another to get deeper in the darkness of the small forest. I searched everywhere in there for what I knew was an owl but couldn’t find it anywhere. I had never seen such a massive wingspan or not hear a single thing. Not even a grip of tree branches or rustle in the leaves.

Then yesterday I let the dogs out again and they ran into the dried up pond and I saw a massive wingspan yet again go from the dried bed of the pond to a group of trees above. There, I finally laid eyes on this amazing creature. I had never seen anything quite like it before. It stared right back at me with very faint but bold yellow eyes. It turned its head to see the dogs who were making a ton of noise to my side then back to me. I could tell it was quite scared of us and so I backed away to give it some space.

As we backed up, I saw bones and a rabbit’s foot with its fur still intact. Looks like we had disturbed a meal, or the ending of the meal. I got some pictures, but they were quite blurry and far off.

Then today, as we went down again, I saw it perched on top of an old metal fence, very low to the ground. I tried to quietly get the dog to come back but he couldn’t hear me. The owl saw him and flew off into the trees above. Here is where I saw it more closer and I could see more details so clear.

This picture does my experience justice. (Not a shill, but I got this with the Adobe Indigo app I just downloaded today and it greatly helped me take a much clearer picture that was far away.)

I’m so in awe of this nocturnal bird. I didn’t want to scare it anymore than we already have so I’m going to try to be more gentle in the future as much as we can. I feel lucky to caught it as the sun is going down and as it is beginning its own day.

There’s a massive nest in one of the trees and I’m thinking that might be its home. May even be a mother or planning to settle here with some new owls of its own? I’m hoping so. We have a bad rodent problem here and these owls are so beautiful and graceful. Would be a welcome exchange, in my opinion.

wtf I actually like being put on hold if this is the music I get

Must be dying from a lot of people leaving. Who doesn’t know about Reddit nowadays??

Couldn’t sleep and went for a drive. 711 guy locked the door and posted a sign that he was taking a break just as I was walking up to the door so I turned around to leave and began leaving the parking lot. I look off to the side and see this weird looking cat but it’s not sitting like a cat.

Pulled up beside it and shouted out of my car “hey what are you up to?” The raccoon just looked up at me and I took this pic lol.

Truthfully, this was my first time seeing a raccoon (alive). I only ever see roadkill or glimpses of them scurrying off at night. So this was kind of cool for me.

It’s imitation lobster I bought for salad but thought I’d try this today because I wanted a sandwich and wanted some “lobster” too.

The lettuce is fresh from my backyard. Best thing I did this year was buy this 6 pack of lettuce plants for like $5 and have been using it ever since for sandwiches and salads.

Also added avocado and Roma tomato. And then added mayonnaise and siracha mayonnaise for the spread. You can see some of the siracha mayo on the lobster on the side.

Very delicious and definitely recommend.

Sorry if this is not the right community to ask this, but I just wondered this today.

Users often think of Linux as being more complicated to use than something like Windows or macOS, but I’m sure there are plenty of things made easier in Linux than the other two more common consumer OSes.

What are some that come to mind for you?
