They did spy on their own people, and to get ahead, a lot of people collaborated with the government to report other people.

Going 20 is the definition of "letting them pass". Or should she have ran off the road so the tailgating ahole could continue on going 90 in a 50 zone?
I just watched the episode where she has the biggest issues with allying to some faction that kept attacking them. Then she gets "a talking to" from the first officer and the security officer going "bruh we just got our asses kicked, this aint the alpha quadrant we need this". So the solution is to ally themselves with the first other faction they come across - a deus ex machina fleet of previously unknown oppressors of the faction that kept attacking them.
Apparently the dealbreaker is "the oppressors who enslaved an entire race trying to assassinate the leaders of the other faction they used to enslave"
Prime suggestion all the way. They really tried to make it "the sensible choice" in the early seasons, and they failed so hard at it that it's rolled over from "funny" to "eyeroll" again
Not every dog is bad to the bone
That'd work if for instance there wasn't the ten commandments and a ton of "this is evil don't do it" in any holy book out there.
Gaza gets destroyed regularly since 1947. They always rebuild.

The funny part is that Russia literally did it first, they occupied Poland for 123 years. Then Poland was reformed after WW1, along with Lithuania. Then of course the Russians attacked Poland 2 years after it was reformed / independent, and got their teeth kicked in so hard, they had to wait 20 years to try again and ally with Nazi Germany to succeed.
So they invaded Poland to get back at the US? Like they invaded Poland in 1920 when they got their ass handed to them by a newly sovereign country? Just like they are doing now to Ukraine?
Nope, you are "just" whatabouting.
So "abandon Ukraine and your other long term allies in favour of China, for no reason", got it.
