In before someone reports this - the person DID kill themselves, therefore this comment isn't advocating self-harm, so much as "I wish the harm had ONLY been to themselves"

[-] JonsJava@lemmy.world 46 points 1 week ago

Yeah, the article is fairly threadbare. You bring up some good questions, too.

The estate should file the claim. They wronged her, not the husband. By having the estate file suit, that would negate anything the husband may have done.

This is a rare exception to rule 6. Yes it's a video, but it does qualify as news.

This is a prime example of what the community is about.

With that said, advocating violence (read: not justice) will not be tolerated. Vigilante mindsets will not be allowed.

Really getting tired of removing comments calling for death. Advocate for strict justice, not death itself.

Compelling speech is a violation of the first amendment.

Yeah, I wish they could force it, but they can't. They might be able to come to an agreement between both parties that if the defendant did XYZ, the plaintiff would reduce damages by X amount.

I don't see that happening, though.

The comments have (no pun intended) gone off the rails. Locking.

Do you have any of the accounts doing the harassment? If you would, DM me those that you have, and I'll personally look into it, and reach out to instance admins with my findings.

As this community continues to grow, we are noticing periods of time that moderation isn't as responsive, due to most of the moderators being asleep at that time. If you want to help us, and live in Asia/Asia Pacific/Australia/New Zealand area, please comment here that you're interested, why you think you'd be a good fit for the team, and anything you'd change if you were picked.

Upvoted because you're dead wrong, in my opinion. Your argument incentivizes the demise of the human race by saying "stop having kids to save money". Society is made up of generations. Get rid of the youngest generation, you remove humanity.

The mods here are fair, and will never abuse their power. With that said, BANNED (/s, obviously)

I wonder if this will be the end of school mascots in Oklahoma

God, I wish I was smart enough to lie this well. No. I like sex, and hate condoms. I'm the dum.

Mod hasn't been active in 6+ months. I'm Iowa local, and want it to succeed.

0 posts on the community, and community owner hasn't been active in 6 months. I think this could help people who don't feel good with how they look.

My goal is to allow image posts every 3 months, so if someone wants to do a progress post, they can - with the safety net that we won't let 2 people spam the community.
