Your comment does not make sense. In communist countries, companies still have CEOs, they just don't have private shareholders, they are owned by the state. Not that I care about that.

And what I call a casino is the NYSE, when stocks offering no dividends are pumped to the stratosphere, with purely speculative buys.

You don't necessarily get common sense with money, especially if you are very wealthy.

So the North Koreans didn't even send weapons with those troops? Sounds a bit weird, why train the troops with new gear? NK gear should be compatible enough that they can keep them supplied with older Russian ammo, right?

I also don't think it will be that drastic, but I can totally see the Russians pushing inexperienced North Korean troops in the thick of the fighting.

If there are any significant changes in direction from the election, that should take effect in February next year, right? The current admin could still sign over the whole army to Ukraine next month, even if the Russians got literally all the votes in the current US election.

In most states where unions are not overregulated like in the US, a layoff has at least the consequence of substantial severances, and the business being unable to hire back for the positions it just laid off without incurring very significant fines.

The problem is that we judge its success by how much the wealthiest people bet on its success in a glorified casino instead of anything else, like its positive impact on society.

A plane can continue to fly without a pilot. The problem is not "continuing to exist", but continued success or a spectacular crash.

Also, I'd bet on Dropbox being able to function quite well without its CEO.

You can actually, evolution is driven by selective reproduction, not selective survival. Yes, reproduction is usually tied to survival, but natural selection would still work even if everyone always lived to 80.

It would not select for traits useful for survival though, it would most likely select for traits that get you laid.

Just saying there is no Russian version, it's just ChatGPT, the Russians are using ChatGPT for information warfare against the West.

You are a MAU if you use the platform once a month by opening the app by mistake, and also if you doom scroll for 10 hours a day.

You continue to be one if you go from one to the other. Musk has been cherry picking stats before, so what they release will be the nicest numbers they can find.

All but one Western countries are in those normal countries to the left of the graph.

I think it's more correlation than causation, Russian interference being the common cause.

I mean, he's not wrong, but apparently saying the quiet part out loud became a faux pas in Hungary recently.

It's not as pithy as Orbán's "Rosatom will buy it for me" about RTL Hungary though.
