I read this as being about K-12 (which don't require students to pay).

Just over the 1hr mark but you can skip to different segments and not lose much.

A really interesting piece consisting of an independent journalist interviewing locals on the issues facing Appalachia.

A region tied to coal in a increasingly green world. My take-away was that their favor of coal is more so tied to their favor of their community (which historically has been defined by the industry).

Tldr non partisan answer: Libertarian philosophy favors negative rights over positive rights.

Negative rights oblige others to not impede (like not censoring free speech).

Positive rights oblige others to provide something (like healthcare).

TLDR: Bring backpack to the range finish with a round left put it in the backpack. Forget to take it out. Go on vacation months later "Oh I should bring my backpack for hiking".

Originally situated across from Lincoln Park, at 3627 Mission Road, it [Los Angeles Alligator Farm] moved to Buena Park, California in 1953, where it was renamed the California Alligator Farm.

  1. Take backpack to the range.
  2. Finish, toss a few leftovers unspent rounds in bag.
  3. Nine months later go to Turks and Caicos (Bring backpack for hiking).

This typically isn't people putting it in luggage (like suitcases) but backpacks or other non-dedicated range bags.

Only a modest step down from Turkish shotguns.

Flag code in the US has no teeth. Flag burning is legal per Texas v. Johnson. Symbolizing a stance of the nation being in distressed is definitely protected speech. Impropriety is a stretch for a statement on his private property that amounts to "our country is in turmoil".

Here's the case's name that the author felt wasn't relevant to the story and a link so you can actually read the opinion for anyone interested:

But did you also get a PhD in Poli-Sci to let you judge Bush's actions as president?

The notion that one can't appreciate art without years of formal education on the subject is ridiculous.

Have you seen people against RCV? Or do mean by those who favor another alternative voting system more (like STAR)? I have heard of a big anti RCV crowd.

Here's a few on reports:

-If you think it merits a report report it.

-If you're unsure if it breaks a rule DM a mod.

-Idealy on a report write the rule # broken. If you're typing past three sentences it's may have unnecessary info.

-If someone is breaking a "don't be mean" rule, the answer isn't for you to break it too.

Here's a few non report ways you can help:

-Set a positive tone.

-A lot of good posts/comments probably never get heard because people think it's too lower effort or no one is interested.

-Crosspost to related communities to help people find related communities.

The 19-year-old whose name really is Bud Weisser was busted in July for breaking into a South County convenience store.

...19-year-old Weisser made an epic comeback when police caught him trespassing at the Budweiser brewery last week.

There's been a distinct lack of serrations recently so I figured I'd post my EDC.

I've had it for ~2 years really like the ABLE lock mechanism on it.

The first flag was 54-by-28-inch vs the second being 96-by-56–inch.

The news of this wish did not sit well with 2nd Battalion Commander Chandler Johnson, whose temperament was every bit as fiery as Howlin Mad's. "To hell with that!" the colonel spat when the message reached him. The flag belonged to the battalion, as far as Johnson was concerned. He decided to secure it as soon as possible, and dispatched his assistant operations officer, Lieutenant Ted Tuttle, to the beach to obtain a replacement flag. As an afterthought, Johnson called after Tuttle: "And make it a bigger one." — James Bradley, Flags of Our Fathers

I don't hear it talked about much. It's from the co-creators of Dishonered & Prey but has the feel of what Fallout 1 & 2 would play like if they came out today IMO.
