Looking forwards to this one.

Interesting that Willem Dafoe is in this: in Shadow of the Vampire he plays Max Schreck the actor from the original Nosferatu. Shadow of the Vampire is worth checking out. A great film that doesn't get talked about enough.

I've been using 86Box for some time now and figured I was finally ready to talk about it. It's one of my go to applications when testing PC software (and even some hardware!)

Find 86Box here: https://86box.net/

When I first heard of The Exorcism starting Russell Crowe, my first thought was "oh, is the sequel to The Pope's Exorcist out already?", which I assume is what the marketing team for The Exorcism were banking on.

On the subject of Pope's Exorcist sequels - they do need to get a move on given that they apparently need to make 199 of them...

Sean Astin on the map from Goonies:

“It’s an item that would probably be worth like $100,000 now,” he said. “And I think my mom threw it out.”

Made me laugh.

The DVD rental kiosk company was supposed to pay $16.7 million in three installments. After missing the first payment, there’s a court order to pay the whole balance.

The Thing On The Doorstep

There was a (very) loose adaptation of The Thing on The Doorstep in 2023 - Suitable Flesh.

However it felt less like an adaptation of Lovecraft and more like an adaptation of Brian Yuzna/Stuart Gordon doing Lovecraft. Which isn't a bad thing - love Reanimator.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. It was good campy fun and the girl playing M3GAN was appropriately creepy.

Reddit had something similar with 'multireddits'. It was basically just a way to group multiple subreddits together. You could either create a multireddit for your own use or you could share it for others to use also.

For posting you would still have to post to a particular subreddit. But for reading you could easily view all the posts for the group.

Right now, you can only view Lemmy as 'Local', "All' or "Subscribed'. It would be nice if I could have more control over that, and view for example 'all the movies and tv communities'.

I think this is especially true since right now it tends to be the case that the high traffic communities tend to drown out the smaller once. If I look at my Subscribed feed, it is dominated by a handful of communities (News, WorldNews, etc.) since they are getting the most posts and comments.

How about the one that launched a dialog box: "Do you have a small penis? Yes/No", and if you moved your mouse near the "No" button, the button would run away around the screen?

Man, good times.

Awesome. Looking forward to this. Do we have any idea of when the new season is likely to air?

What's hilarious is that even if you didn't notice the name on the paper (I didn't) you still know immediately who this is mocking.
