CEOs are obsessed with value derived free of all that messy human labor. It would make sense if they didn't still want the people they fired to pay money to talk to the robots.

Ask France if it works.

Okay, I listen to a fair amount of history podcasts, so let's see what I can pull out of my head for fun:

There was Rainbow Man, who famously went to sports games across America, holding up a sign that read "John 3:16" in an attempt to convert people to Christianity. He later died in a hotel shoot out where he took a maid hostage in his hotel room full of guns.

There was the time the President of America secretly went on a trip to Panama on one of two ships. While trying to show off to the president doing drills, the other ship accidentally shot a torpedo at the presidents ship. He pulled a pistol and attempted to shoot the torpedo with it.

The settlement at Roanoke, which was one of the earliest attempts by Europeans to settle in America and by the time ships got back with supplies (I believe years after they said they would be back) the settlement was empty. Still unsolved to this day.

America has dropped at least two nuclear warheads on itself accidentally, which have all failed to detonate.

Benedict Arnold was one of the best military minds ever born in America. He paid for his own troops for years, and when he asked for repayment or even his own salary, the Republicans claimed he actually owed the government money. They gave him tje reputation of only caring about money and refused to ever pay him until he finally took money from Britan to make ends meet.

George Bush senior crashed into German electrical lines and flew the plane back to base causing an international incident. He never received punishment for this and continued to fly for the military. He also did a bunch of drug smuggling and no one cared.

Look into pretty much any time people wanted to explore an area for the first time and there was most likely a massive loss of life and money. Australia and America seem to have the funniest stories of people's attempts to name every river and mountain they see.

That's what I got off the top of my head. :)

This sounds like a successful efficiency study presented by a horror director.

I found this when I was in college too. I only ever asked a few questions and they were all closed as duplicates and never found why the answers from those threads solved anything closed to what I was asking. Lol

There is a saying that if you have 9 people at a table and a nazi takes a seat you have ten nazis at a table. Inaction against damaging retoric is bad, but actively voting for it is worse. I know the whole nazi thing is very charged right now, but that isn't the point.

If you vote for a republican than you are voting for another person in congress to push the party line. They may not agree with stopping bills that are good for the environment, but if they want to get reelected than they will vote how the party wants when it really matters.

Any vote for a republican is a vote for general public life to be worse for everyone. Your taxes will go up, trump made sure his tax hikes would all hit during the Biden administration, that isn't an accident. And you will get less use out of your tax money with Republicans in charge. So what do you gain by voting for them?

"The right people" to suffer. They never wanted themselves, their neighbors, or even the poor people down the road to suffer. They want all tge bad people Fox News tells them about to suffer and the fucking democrats just refuse to make the Fox News anchors happy!

Stupid? No. We are all much more susceptible to propaganda than we think.

He purchased his companies from other people who had already developed the ideas. The only patent with Musks name on it for Tesla is the charging port that is proprietary so other electric vehicles couldn't use tesla charging stations.

Yeah, but cancer is a litteral lump of living cells. It's an apt comparison.

And a sperm meeting an egg suddenly meaning life potential which is worth intervening in another's medical decision is such a weird line. Especially in this county obsessed with freedoms.

It feels like such an arbitrary line to draw and agree with. When did you start this belief?

I'm sorry, why can't it be used as birth control? Why can't a medical procedure between a doctor and patient be done to better the life of the patient?

This whole anti abortion thing started with one guy in America forever ago and has spread from there. But before his crusade against abortions not many people felt one way or another about them. This seems to me like a group of people advocating making any cancer removal illegal.

Yup, that is the goal. Juuuuust short of desperate. That is where we are aiming for most of our population to live.
