If you want something like a repository that is distribution agnostic, you can use Brew. It is no longer restricted to macOS, it has been handling Linux executables for quite some time now.

According to a quote from Sky Sports, Horner is still employed by Red Bull, I guess he's been put on gardening leave?

Yesterday, I was informed by Red Bull that operationally I would no longer be involved with the business or the team moving forward.

I will still remain employed by the company, but, operationally the baton will be handed over.

In other news, water is wet. (nobody is surprised that Apple would fight this fine)

I pretty much agree with you: I was blown away by the driving sequences (which are very reminiscent of 1966 Grand Prix), but god, the writing was terrible.

I winced so many times at the inconsistencies regarding rules and strategy (which is baffling given Ruth Buscombe, Bernie Collins and Will Buxton are credited as consultants, as well as Lewis and Toto as Executive Producers!). The blatant cheating from Pitt's character is stupid, appalling and neither the driver and his team faced any consequences, it should have earned him at least a black flag.

And the characters... they are all so shallow and their arcs are static until the penultimate race. In that aspect, Gran Turismo was a better driver movie.

They kinda did with Deepseek out of necessity to circumvent the import restrictions on AI chips. But this model is very pro-China (it has lots of censorship built in)

So that's now 8 points between Piastri and Norris. Bring it on!

This. I have been using it a lot lately to manipulate CSVs, it is such a godsend.

When logged into a private instance, post thumbnails don't load. This is because Lemmy will reject all requests that aren't authenticated when the instance is set to private (thumbnails load after setting the instance back to public) and it seems to expect the HTTP call to contain the JWT in the cookies.

I stumbled on the exact same issue described at the end of the "The same issue, but with web platform functions" section today, thought it might be worth sharing that article here.

Hello,

I have happily playing games on Bluefin and recently rebased to Bazzite DX in order to take advantage of non-Flatpak Steam and Sunshine. Everything worked well for a day or two, until it did not.

Both of my currently installed Steam games (Half-Life RTX and Split Fiction) just crashes as they start. I did a sanity check by verifying the game files integrity as well as reinstalling, but it did not fix the issue. I also installed a third game that I knew runs on my machine (LEGO Builder's Journey) and it did not work either.

I ran the games with the PROTON_LOG=1 %command% launch options to produce logs but as they are 4K, 25K and 54K lines long I don't know what to look for. (The logs if you want to take a look)

Ah yes, when launching Split Fiction I have some Unreal Engine-specific error dialog named "Wine C++ Runtine Library" that reads

Assertion failed!

Program:
Z:\var\home\axel\.steam\steam\steamapps\common\Split
Fiction\Split\Binaries\Win64\SplitFiction.exe
File: ../src-lsteamclient/steamclient_main.c
Line: 357

Expression: "!status"

Press OK to exit the program, or Cancel to start the Wine debugger.

Clicking OK opens a new error dialog named "The UE-Split Game has crashed and will close". Searching for both error dialogs online did not bring anything useful (the second dialog seems to be extremely brings Windows-specific fixes).

If anyone knows where I should look, that would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I forgot to specify that I also tried rollbacking to a previous version of Bazzite and that The Sims 4 installed with Lutris does work.

Edit 2: I did a sanity check by running a native game (Portal 2) and it crashed after the Valve intro video. Is it possible my Steam install is borked?

Resolution:

The fact that even native games would crash lead me to believe that maybe I borked my Steam install while moving folders between the Flatpak and native versions of Steam.

So I went nuclear: I closed Steam, rm -rf'd ~/.steam and ~/.local/share/steam, re-launched it, installed a game and launched it. It did not crash!

All this wasted time because I did not want to waste time re-downloading my games...

Now comparing the two outputs of ~/.steam before and after, I can see that many folders and files were missing.

Hello all,

I have set up Incident Detection a few months back with the goal of alerting my partner if I ever fall off my bike on my commute.

All was well until a couple of months ago when it fired off twice at the same place in 24 hours, unnecessarily alarming my partner in the process.

I haven't thought about it until today, when it fired off once again, at the same place: a paved plaza in Paris (Denfert-Rochereau to be exact).

Does any one of you have had similar experiences? Do you know if there is a way to configure the feature's sensitivity or report false-positives? I have yet to find any related settings other than on/off in the Garmin app or on the watch.
