I've always been fascinated by these small computers. GPD makes these kinds of devices too. Ordered one once but I never got it. Been thinking of building one myself though I'm worried it would be too small to enjoyable use. I would definitely write on it, that I am sure of.

Well discord isn't completely comparable to IRC but the look of that client sure is!

The Zelda games on the Game Boy and Colour are unique within the Zelda series as a whole. Strange plots, enemies, music, mystery and even gameplay plague the three games. Hell, in Link's Awakening half the enemies are straight up from Super Mario Bros. And the oracle games come with novels and feature interconnected password systems, animal companions (who vary depending on your own actions) and areas unique in any other Zelda games (Subrosia). It's almost as if these 3 games exist in a void unto itself.

I recently watched a playthrough of the Unreal remake of Link's Awakening. Those plus the Oracle games are imo, some of my favourite Zelda games. Anyone know any games similar? I alreayd know of and love Lenna's Inception and Anodyne but I want more. I wrote an article about Link's Awakening and what I call Lozgbc games with a few more listed. Anyone know any other ones I could add?

Nintendo claims that Yuzu actively assisted in piracy of Tears of the Kingdom. They say that Yuzu violates Nintendo's copyright by decrypting their games to run.

They also claim that "Nintendo also has technological measures on the Nintendo Switch console itself, including additional layers of encryption, which prevent users from unlawfully accessing or modifying the console—including to procure the prod.keys—and from accessing or copying games stored on the console or on a cartridge inserted in the console." - From the actual lawsuit which you can read here: https://www.scribd.com/document/709016504/Nintendo-of-America-Inc-v-Tropic-Haze-LLC-1-24-Cv-00082-No-1-D-R-I-Feb-26-2024

Nintendo claims that Yuzu spoiled Tears of the Kingdom for everyone (not listed as a damage in the lawsuit this is just something they've added on).

This lawsuit bears similarities to the Bleem v. Sony though I'll let you draw your own conclusion if this is comparable.

From the github description: "A Virtual Boy emulator for the Nintendo 3DS continuing mrdanielps's work on r3Ddragon, which is itself based on Reality Boy / Red Dragon. It uses a dynamic recompiler with busywait detection and a hardware-accelerated renderer to achieve high performance on the 3DS's limited hardware."

Here is the complete announcement: https://commaful.notion.site/commaful/A-Heartfelt-Goodbye-and-a-New-Beginning-at-Commaful-a31080180fa647f5ad69eac89fa6b532

Commaful is a website where you could post short (really short) stories to with pictures. I've used it in the past to post my lyrics to my music but otherwise didn't really interact with it. Aside from poetry and short stories the website also contains a ton of shortform fanfiction.

I'm assuming a full backup wouldn't be that big (it's literally just text and some images + a lot of people using the same stock images). I just downloaded all my stories and it came to about 9mb (against 20 or so stories).

Well it worked with Ramaswamy. Saw an article yesterday of an Iowan voter who said he wouldn't support him because he hasn't forgiven them for 9/11.

Does walmart even need to advertise? They have such a grip on retailspace they just need to exist to make money.

Once again? I thought they were already in the process of it. The API-change was just another piece of it.

I remember a gamedev complaining about this on Twitter but the outcome he came to was that he hated that Linux users submitted bug reports, stating the OS itself was broken and he refused to help any of them.

Geshin Impact and Valorant are two of the worst offenders at this. Their anticheat runs at an absurdly high level.

More I see stuff like this the more I believe that these services really aren't making any money and its all smokescreen.

Though this could also just be investors trying to drive up profits instead.

So far the most popular games ive seen pushback from are Slay the Spire, Cult of the Lamb and Darkest Dungeon. Those games also have the benefit of dedicated fanbases. Those people will easily follow them.

Can't believe this is actually a reality now.

It just looks like some Lemmy users are falling for an obvious troll.

It's a damn shame. May he rest in peace.
