Can we just cut out everything in between and go straight to David Mitchell for PM?

As long as he makes his wife Deputy PM, I'm in.

edit: although thinking about it Victoria Coren Mitchell would make the better PM but she can keep David around to help with stuff.

Character assassination is my least favourite part of politics. It annoys me that it works.

Less character assassination, more taking the piss. I'm definitely in favour of the latter.

I get that. It's funny, but makes me somewhat uncomfortable.

Everyone's mileage differs.

Also on TikTok if people want to avoid Xitter.

edit: I've just gone and embedded the video.

[-] c10l@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

I want to avoid both though. There should be Fediverse bots mirroring them. 😅

I've downloaded the video, uploaded it to Catbox and embedded it in the original post, so can now avoid both. I think a not mirroring video would cause some hefty hosting bills but it's easy enough to do it manually with selected ones.

General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(
