2nd game winner this series, he always shows up in the clutch!
Ayo, can I post the 'Eliminated from contention' post for the lakers? Don't wanna step on mods toes if that is a mod privilege.
Yeah go ahead! It’s not a mod privilege I just was the one doing it when I had time lol
Great clutch shot, honestly such a great fucking series even though the 4-1 doesn't show it.
Very well fought by LeBron
New basketball fan here, what was insane about his shot?
If I had to guess, something about how the players are moving before the shot? Or am I wrong and it's the shot itself? I don't get it but I'm enjoying learning the game.
This was a game winner to win the nuggets first round playoff matchup, which is always a big deal, but there are three things that are particularly impressive here:
-
Jamal Murray was injured coming into this game, so the fact that he held strong through the game, played great basketball, and hit the game winner is impressive.
-
The degree of difficulty on that shot was massive. Going left and shooting right requires perfect balance, focus, and contortion to get the shot off properly. Murray used this to catch the Lakers' Austin Reaves off guard and get a clean look, leveraging a difficult shot against an even more difficult to defend attack.
-
This is the 2nd game winner Jamal Murray has hit this playoff series, both of which were highly difficult shots. Big time shot maker making big time shots.
The Jokic screen left Reaves useless and AD out of position
What a painful way to get eliminated. I could get even worse for the Lakers if the first round exit convinces LeBron that it is time to move on.
Let's hope for the good of the nba
Yes it was a round 1 exit but they lost to the (probably) best team right now. The silver lining was that they gave their best from start to end. As a Lakers fan it was 👍 to see their grit.
Yeah bro Brons gone. Idk how many pathways Lakers have to improve. Philly or (darkhorse) Orlando should have the capspace next year. Idk where else he could go without a sign and trade.
I don't see him going to Philly, that team is not getting any younger. I can see him going for a sign and trade or, if he really sees an exceptional opportunity, signing below market (I imagine most of his income is endorsement based).
That makes the Knicks a tempting target. They have a strong young core that can shoulder the regular season so LeBron can focus on his health. New York is the biggest media market in the country, so his sponsors will love it. If he can bring a championship to a large, long suffering fan base, he will help cement his legacy. I assume that the Lakers would rather take a trade of picks and expiring contracts rather lose him for nothing at all.
He really shines when the lights are brightest
