Song was chop suey and the album was Toxicity. I was absolutely not disappointed.
That huge digital clipping peak on the opening guitar/drum note of Prison Song is massive and the record is good all the way through from there.
@01010101011 I bought You’re In Both Dreams (And Now You’re Scared) by the French band Paerish strictly for the song “Still There”, and the whole album ended up being my most listened to album of 2023.
Tons of excellent songs on it. I was shocked to find out later they were French. They don’t sound like it. They sound like some American #90s band of yore.
I got "So Tonight That I Might See" by Mazzy Star because of "Fade Into You." I expected a one hit wonder -- did not expect that whole album to blow me away.
“What’s an album” —my 11 year old kid, as I visibly age and turn to dust like that Matt Damon gif
Answer: like clockwork by queens of the Stone Age.
Making Movies by Dire Straits. Not a bad song on the entire album, and it also has IMO their best ever song, 'Tunnel of Love'.
Hurry Up We're Dreaming by M83. I bought it just for Midnight City but I listened to it front-to-back for the first time while taking mushrooms and floating on an inflatable in Cane Garden Bay on Tortola in the Caribbean. There were tears, but it's still an excellent album sober.
Also, Final Straw by Snow Patrol.
@01010101011 The Police - Outlandos D'amour. Bought it for Roxanne (and maybe a bit of Can't Stand Losing You), loved every bit of it, even the more than slightly weird Be My Girl/Sally.
Faith, by George Micheal.
