The most effective way to become resistant to US intervention is to become a nuclear power. You don't even have to make nuclear weapons, so hopefully they do actually create effective nuclear power plants.

Lol, well, Pakistan and India should be more like China. Or Russia. Rosatom exports a shitton of fuel (to the west too 🇫🇷 for instance), they have projects in Egypt and Africa, they are making nuclear barges to accelerate development of coastal Africa.

Iran is definitely going to be more like China. They can't make any missteps or they are fucked and they know it.

Nuclearizing is just the most intelligent development solution if you can afford it. They'll probably have a better power situation than fucking Germany!!!!

I bet they can work out some good deals for nuclear technology with Russia and China.

Russia's X-ray mirrors are incredibly high quality.

Oh no! Muslims having nuclear power? What if they use it to.... * gulp * ... Do like us and get similar weapons to the ones we've had and used to massacre people? 😰

One of the things about being a Muslim country is you can lose a massive level of clout for indiscriminately massacring men women and children. Here we don't even really deny it half the time. We just show some chart abt how our weapons are more precise + expensive and therefore humane.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran began construction on four more nuclear power plants in the country’s south, with expected total capacity of 5,000 megawatts, the official IRNA news agency reported Thursday.

The UN’s nuclear watchdog said last year that Iran has increased the rate at which it is producing near-weapons grade uranium.

Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said in the report that Iran “in recent weeks had increased its production of highly enriched uranium, reversing a previous output reduction from mid-2023,” according to an IAEA spokesperson.

Iran had previously slowed the rate at which it was enriching uranium to 60% purity, which is just a short technical step away from the weapons-grade level of 90%.

IRNA quoted Mohammad Eslami, the head of Iran’s atomic agency, saying it will take up to nine years to complete the new plants.

The report said the four new plants are being built in the port town of Sirik on Iran’s east coast, some 1,150 kilometers (715 miles) south of the capital, Tehran.
