Perhaps Kagi would work for you? https://help.kagi.com/kagi/features/website-info-personalized-results.html
Thank you, I'll check it out.
Second vote for Kagi. I've read so many good stories about it here, so gave it a try. First time didn't really like it, but gave it a second try, and now am paying user. Not for everyone, the Mrs doesn't like it.
Pinterest is the number one filtered site on Kagi!
You can generally add "-" before a domainname for search engines to prevent content from that domain showing up.
So for reddit, you'd search "weather -reddit.com". It should work. This is short and generally works but If it still shows up "weather -site:reddit.com".
you can also add multiple domains like "-reddit.com -stackoverflowclone.com -seojacked.com"
You can also do this by default using custom search engine with a search string that already contains the domains you don't want.
For ddg:
Thank you for your answer, I am aware about adding "-" before the domain name, I am sorry should have mentioned it in my post ๐. But it does not seem feasible to do that everytime for multiple sites so I'm more interested in setting up a default list of websites I can block.
Yes please. Pinterest should be entirely filtered out of all search.
Thank you very much, this seems to do the job.
You are very welcome. Note that they also have some public block lists that you can subscribe too.

This is very easy to do if you use kagi. It works well on Firefox for android.
