Training people is hard i guess
yeah, at this point i'm an underpaid "manager" with no actual authority so i could be let go if i make a decision my borderline nonexistent two actual managers don't like. this includes being in charge of "training" (i was never trained ofc) which largely consists of shadowing me for a day and then getting tossed into the deep end because we don't want to hire people.
all of this and it's still better than what i could get elsewhere (woman with phone answerer on resume has exactly one usable skill according to any middle manager in the US) because i at least am allowed to basically do whatever i want as long as i'm here and the machine runs smoothishly
Why don't people want to do extra extra work that I don't specify or teach?
Was once handed the keys to a front end loader, without any form of training. Like at all. It was a government job as well. Good times
