tankieslop

Your community for poking fun at the bullshit tankies say and spread.

Rules:

  1. No tankie talking points. That includes the classics (denial of genocide of Uyghurs, denial of ML dictator's crimes, campism, calling everyone you disagree with a liberal or CIA etc.) and general shit opinions (general genocide denial, antisemitism, racism, queerphobia, etc.)

  2. MLs are not communists. They never actually worked towards it and there are some who don't even define it as a stateless, classless, egalitarian society. So MLs shouldn't be called communists in the first place. Calling hating MLs anticommunism will probably expose you as either a tankie or a right winger, both of which aren't welcome here.

  3. Right-wingers, fash, nazis, nazbols etc. are not welcome! Right wing talking points (such as anti-woke, anti-queer, speaking favorably of far right figures, being anti-antifa etc.) will get you banned pretty quickly.

  4. Please respect people's pronouns. Deliberately misgendering people repeatedly is going to lead you to have issues with the mods. Defending misgendering will get you banned.

  5. No brigading. People caught brigading in this comm will be banned. Also we oppose brigading in other comms. Keep the discussions and stuff within the comm.

  6. On near-east topics: Nakba is an established fact. The (ongoing) Palestinian genocide is a fact. Israel commits crimes against Palestinians. No anti-Arab (such as Palestinians and Druze) sentiments allowed (it falls under racism anyways). In regards to Israel, do not dehumanize civilians. Saying shit like "there are no civilians in Israel/Palestine" will get you permabanned.

  7. Be kind to one another. Try to deescalate any fights.

Content guidance:

Anti-ML memes, screenshots and humor are allowed.

For general discussion threads please ask.

If there is demand, we can do a open discussion thread once a month. But it will get locked if in escalates into a dumpster fire.

MODERATORS

Any voting encouragement on LSC is now consistently removed by an MLer on the mod team.

The days .world is safe from tankie censorship are over. Voting in the midterms is straightup the same as zionism.

And for some inexplicable reason the Fediverse seems to be bleeding MAU…

Can confirm.

That sub is primarily modded by a piece of shit named GodlessCommie, although your ML mod is sporadically active as well. In fact, it looks like that ML mod is posting another ML anti-voter dipshit I've argued with named OBJECTION! on "Best of Lemmy", so they're trying to promote each other and spread their pathetic shit to other parts of the Lemmiverse.

If you don't agree with the mod's narrative, your comments will be deleted and you will likely be banned. The LateStageCapitalism sub has become a crybaby safe space for these anti-vote dipshits and no one that isn't also an anti-vote dipshit should be contributing to it.

The same exact process is also taking place on the Ye Powertrippin' Bastards sub on the dbzer0 instance. The sub is modded by a single crybaby anti-voter scumbag that removes anyone that doesn't promote his garbage opinions.

In the last month or so I've been seeing a lot more people complain about these subs and users. So their anti-democratic efforts are becoming more common knowledge.

If you care about democracy and happen to mod a sub/instance these are the users you should ban. They are coordinating anti-democratic efforts on Lemmy.

Username checks out… sadly.

One of the useful purposes of the PTB comm is that it serves as a UV light attracting the entire Kalingrad payroll each time some comes in. The user mentioned in my screenshot went to the PTB comm and the dbzero admin is even stepping in (well admin == mod == comment section brigader until they distingish)

Add to that list:

https://lemmy.world/u/IndustryStandard@lemmy.world

https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/u/TherapyGary

https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/u/Flatworm7591 <<< db0 admin frequently permabanning on personal taste

https://lemmy.world/u/Maeve@kbin.earth <<< this one hides their post history

I am almost certain many of these are not one internet user but possibly accounts operated by multiple.

You never know where the ban will come from. I got banned from Ukraine (on grounds of racism) because I said something about Israel killing children.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 7 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

It always was.

I suggest everyone do what they can to contact the admins to have that shithole removed. Free speech is one thing, but openly supporting fascism and propaganda is another. They are spreading MAGA-like psyop bullshit. That comm needs to burn to the ground.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Agreed. I think the comm could be saved if the mod team was reset. As someone else said, brainbox user is not coming of as a very stable user in the first place.

Either that or we need to find an instance that has pro-democracy, anti-propaganda, pro respectful free speech, anti hate speech and where the comms are enforced to follow the instance rules, as I’m pretty sure brainbox on LSC is breaking the instance rules with that type of mod behaviour.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 2 points 8 hours ago

Brainbox is a flaming pile of vapid dogshit that requires a sitewide ban. But admins would rather just not rock the boat. It’s this and other reasons why I bailed on .world. The admins there are useless.

There is a name I haven't heard in awhile shudders

Block and run away from that user.

[–] TanteRegenbogen@feddit.org 16 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

It always was considering who mods the comm.

Honestly, .world is not the right instance for that content. Tankies like to spread to other instances like a metastasizing cancer if not kept in check.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah. The trouble is that many are coming in via .world, just unsure about the federation model and picking an instance with momentum or critical mass to avoid losing an account and having to re-register with a different instance.

Recently there was a ‘celebration’ on .world for reaching 200k users, and it went over most people’s head that with declining monthly actives, this essentially means average people are joining, and seeing the extremism, getting a few random perma bans without reason and long, fairly sensible comments removed with obscure reasons. And just leaving soon after and joining the dormant club.

You’re right, it is a spread, and within the next few months/years, we will have the 2 biggest instances overrun by a very dangerous form of leftism (which in my humble opinion is akin to far right extremism) and that will be the biggest test for the fediverse yet.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

Yup. Was just talking to someone else about how these tankie mods are going to drive users away from this platform. People come here to escape Reddit's censorship. Many of them are arriving and being instantly banned or having their comments deleted by these scumbag losers and giving them the wrong impression of the platform. It's becoming a real issue.

[–] LinkeSocke@feddit.org 10 points 18 hours ago

MLer entirely against voting? Lenin was pro-voting in unrevolutionary times and even wrote a whole book against ultra-leftists who boycotted voting entirely.

https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/cw/pdf/lenin-cw-vol-31.pdf

There are different Marxist movements where voting in parliaments is entirely boycotted. But that's not ML.

[–] TanteRegenbogen@feddit.org 12 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

Waybackmachine says they only added BraininaBox to their mod team this year and moderation has escalated since BraininaBox has been added.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 8 points 15 hours ago

That piece of shit is about as embarrassing as a human can get while still being entirely useless and ineffective.

[–] CTDummy@piefed.social 15 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Literally last time I saw Brain was ages back when he was deliberately following a user around to harass them. Wild he’s been made a mod of anywhere given his pattern of behaviour.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 6 points 15 hours ago

A shithole like that welcomes shitheads like that.

[–] TanteRegenbogen@feddit.org 10 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

He still follows people around. I think one of the feddit.org admins gave him a temp ban for it.

Edit: Ban is permanent and it was for fighting and abusing reports. Also Brain seems to also be banned from lemmy.ca

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 7 points 19 hours ago

I’ve posted both during the most recent presidential and this election, as I always post voter encouragement for US elections, and the banning and conflict this time around has been quite bedazzling.

We are not all that far away from one of the users becoming radicalised, doing something stupid with a gun or other weapon, and getting an intire instance criminally investigated.

And since most instances store IP addresses…

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 15 hours ago

Yep. Blocked since aught-six! . . . Or, a few months ago. Whichever.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 9 points 21 hours ago (3 children)

I agree. But what does MAU mean? and more importantly how do we moderate our way to a tankless future? The humble carcass conglomerate should also get slapped for they ban dissenters aggressively and propagate dangerous propaganda that is ultra right adjacent, but that is another issue.

We are too fringe friendly here.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

From the recent responses you’ve gotten, I’m thinking it might be monthly active users.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 3 points 14 hours ago

Thanks, appreciated

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

Monthly Active Users

[–] punkisundead@slrpnk.net 4 points 20 hours ago

But what does MAU mean?

From the context probably monthly active users

[–] CompactFlax@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 20 hours ago

I haven’t seen that comm in a while; either I’ve been banned or I’ve blocked it. Either way, no loss.
