I'm probably on some kind of list now
A community for discussing events around the World
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

I’m just going to pretend this is about the sketch The State did where Thomas Lennon is explaining on a talk show that he does “monkey torture.”
When asked what he has learned from his research his response is “they hate it.”
Before reading the comments I thought "Global Monkey Torture Network" was a funny turn of phrase. Great band name.
After reading the comments I'm just sad.
You can be anything you want to be in this world!
"I want to be a ringleader of a global monkey torture network!"
...
You can be almost anything you want to be in this world!
These laws need to be revisited. They paid for and shared hardcore CSAM/snuff, with a slim veil of it ackshually being against monkeys and not humans. The guy got caught with regular CSAM as well, women were quoted as projecting their hatred of humans on monkeys, and it can't get more obvious. It's not like these sickos are clever or something, but they found an awkwardly safe grey zone in law to feed their their vile fetishes in a relative safety. That obviously invites a very heated discussion of where and how to draw the line right, and I myself find that if human is to keep being treated differently, at least, there are lotsa details like it being systemic + organized + commercial + international enterprise - all should factor into the sentence, breaking the set limits of just 5 years max for what looks like running a literal baby crushing machine.
The laws are like this because animal agriculture is also a literal baby crushing machine so harsher laws would basically make animal agriculture impossible.
He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison at Woolwich Crown Court.
"It is no exaggeration to say that as a lawyer or as a judge I have never encountered such a horrific case of animal abuse in my life," Judge Christopher Grout told the court.
"There is a vile underground community who have a hatred of monkeys, particularly baby monkeys, and take pleasure in seeing such monkeys being tortured and killed."
The judge said Poklek would be released after serving about a third of his prison sentence under the Sentencing Act 2026, and called for longer sentences for animal abuse, which currently has a five-year maximum.
He added: "If ever there was a case that demonstrates that the statutory maximum for animal cruelty is too low, this is it."
What the actual fuck?
NSFL
He said Poklek and his acolytes paid for monkeys to be dismembered while alive and their body parts fed into a blender.
Primates were filmed being boiled alive, having their genitals and fingers cut off, being skewered with a kebab rod from top to tail and sexually abused.
Mother monkeys and their babies were slaughtered in front of each other by locals and one man was filmed cutting open the top of a skull and eating the animal’s brain.

My ex is from Thailand and told me that there are restaurants where you can eat live monkey brains. I guess there's a hole in the table so they can put the animal below and the diners have access to the brains.
While I suppose this could've been a lie, it was not the only instance of horrific animal abuse I was told about so I'm inclined to think it is real.
Aaaaaaaaaand that's enough Internet for this year.
As a long time “NSFL” content reader and watcher (efukt, rotten.com and liveleak - I watched it all):
I had to stop reading the article because I was getting physically ill - and I watched videos from the Yugoslavian war. This is truly vile shit and whoever was doing this or watching it should never be allowed to be around anything living ever again.
If you go “how bad it could be” it’s worse. Don’t read. Believe me.
Yeah I didn't read it all.
Thanks I will take a pass
Stephen Miller is desperately looking for alternative sources of entertainment ever since his monkey torture feed has dried up.
He follows zionazi torturing Palestinians.
Maybe he hates monkeys so much because he's reminded of them every time he looks in the mirror. A hate-filled mind rots the body.
Cut off his testicles and feed them to him with a nice Chianti
Yet the Epstein gang walks free.
Same audiance imo. And dont forget animal protections have historically preceeded child protections. When trump couldnt kill a kid, he instead reached for a litter of puppies to quench his bloodlust. So i consider this progress, however small and symbolic, within the context of our cruel world.
Change happens slowly, then all at once.
I was “just” SA. This is something much much worse.
If kids do this shit to insects as kids it’s considered a marker for psychopathy or sociopathy. They did that to actual living monkeys.
