Thought this was a onesie for a newborn for a sec

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 19 points 2 weeks ago

[–] StillAlive@piefed.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

It can be 🤷‍♂️

[–] Octavio@piefed.social 6 points 2 weeks ago

I thought it was right up until I saw this very comment.

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Good for the newborn.

Chefs kiss lol

[–] Strider@lemmy.world 26 points 2 weeks ago

This is honestly the hardest part about being an atheist.

[–] MarieMarion@literature.cafe 15 points 2 weeks ago

I first thought it was a onesie. For babies. It went too hard then.

if hell is the absence of god then this is hell

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 3 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

I will argue that hell is the lack of warmth. I grew up on the equator and moved to somewhere it snows occasionally. The cold sucks.

[–] Octavio@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

That must've been hot. I moved to the Tropic of Cancer and that's as close to the equator as I want to get. Sometimes I miss playing in the snow, but I don't miss shoveling it.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 3 points 2 weeks ago

Insane take. Everyone knows hell is hot. Ergo summer = hell Q.E.D.

[–] moondoggie@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

According to Dante, that’s the ninth circle of hell because it’s farthest from God’s warmth.

[–] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 weeks ago

I thought this was a baby onesie at first glance and for one shining moment I imagined having a child of my own I could force to wear it, just for the lulz.

This life is hell and we're all sinners.

[–] StabbingSky@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The Mayans were right. The world actually ended in 2012 and this is just hell.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

The Mayans never said the world would end, they simply used a cyclical calendar.

I flutter near a humanist buddhism. Sometimes I hope that reincarnation is correct and that some of them reincarnate into hell

[–] this_1_is_mine@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 weeks ago

If you die before you resolve your self you come back on the same level... So I just reimagine all the roaches and shit eaters that get parasitized getting to do round.... 2... Hundered... Thousand very ground hog day esk.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 weeks ago

there isn't. that's why you need to treat them like shit IRL and give them consequences for their actions

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Unfortunately, there's not.

It's a nice thought though. The worst most bad people ever experiences just the negative cause-and-effect for their own actions, like the awful parent whose kids won't visit them when they're old. That our time is limited and bad people experience a more negative reality overall is the closest we come to a hell.

I am, however, glad that when we die the lights simply go out.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago

To be fair, just saying "there's not" or "it's just lights out" isn't exactly more than faith itself anyway. Do you have any evidence to support your claim? Or just "well, I ain't seen it!" like how my Dad thinks the moon landing was fake?

A small percentage of people that die and are revived report NDEs of going to an actual hell-like or negative place and having a bad time. I think it's like 10-15% or so of people that remember anything from and NDE have a "distressing" experience. So there's a lot of people out there who have seen a "hell," and you're ignoring that survey data collected by the University of Virginia at the very least. Seems a bit sloppy, yet confident in yourself. Why?

Though, personally, I think "hell" is just the suffering and fear people heap upon themselves. Two people sitting next to each other on the train can literally be one person in heaven, having the time of their lives, one in a personal hell of anxiety and fear and terror. YMMV I guess.

Not for the ones who deserve it most and that is the problem.

[–] blujan@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

No, but that makes sense if we're in the bad place. The people on top that should be getting tortured (according to us) are the only ones having a good time, this unfairness might be part of our experience in the bad place.

[–] BitUnWise@programming.dev 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Hell is compatible with Atheism, though I haven't met a hell (as in punishment for bad people in the afterlife) believing atheist

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 weeks ago

Yup, don't need gods for there to be an afterlife or hell.

[–] Impractical_Island@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I put dicks in my ass to shirts like this and my gramma don't even knit them like they used to.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You are an entertaining kind of unhinged.

[–] Impractical_Island@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

I am as a legwich once was

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 weeks ago

If I could make my stupid autistic brain accept it, I would in a heartbeat. Alas, everything I believe has to have evidence.
