Know DNS isn't the most glamorous bit of infrastructure, but quad9 have been doing good work for a long time. This is exactly what I'd expect from them and why I trust them. Glad to see it.

What is missing in that article is that blocking globally also might open Quad9 to liability in case of overblocking or falsely reported domains, which has happened in every country which has given rightholders the tools to demand blocks without judicial oversight.

Oof (to the fact that they might need to move out of France). And right after Mullvad decided to shut down their public DNS servers and recommended Quad9.

Get a €5 VPS, install unbound and nginx and setup you own DoT. Set your router to use it. EZ

Am I the only one that has problems when using Quad9 as a forwarder?

I've tried multiple times and it would mostly work but I would sometimes have problems with random legit domains returning NXDOMAIN, and then start working later in the day.

I've been using quad9 for years, furiously browsing newly created domains, it never happened to me.

Same here, but last year. Don't know if it's still the case.

In practical terms, what does this mean for a Q9 user in France? That they have to set it up via DOH?
