If it weren't for Windows 11, I may have never installed Linux. So I think it's the best Windows yet.

I've been imaging my W11 partition before updates. Such a pain in the dick,

Windows 11. Playstation 5. Xbox Series One Sixty X. What other tech products have actually been around for years but still feel like they’re in the first year teething phase?

SteamVR on Linux.

Basically all of Apple's most recent updates have bugs galore. Even the Music app of all things keeps wigging out after playing for a bit and has refused to not play new things to the point that I am convinced they put ads in it too (a random K-pop band’s album from 2026 has no place in a radio station based on Bohemian Rhapsody for instance). I haven’t had this much problem with Apple software since like my iPhone 3G.

the 26H2 update started to roll out just a few days ago
'predictable and low-disruption'

Does it disrupt their tracking ID?

Ah yes, the "Two minutes of hate" comment section of the day. 😏 (I'm in this comment section..)

Kind of crazy that Windows 10 still has 28% market share though.

[–] Zoomboingding@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

I'm still in that 28%. I need to make sure I can get another year of security updates...

This is what happened when the driving force of sales is inertia.

Thank you Microsoft for providing an update that doesn’t make my tremendously expensive pc, that’s still bloated and add infested, unpredictable and disruptive.

That Windows can still be sold in EU with the forced online account?

[–] Ludicrous0251@piefed.zip 8 points 12 hours ago

Posted this a few months ago:

Basically, if you select an EEA country during first install you get different options in Windows. I'd recommend anyone who needs to do a fresh windows install, or who is able to regedit their existing install, choose an EEA country.

I'd recommend Linux over Windows for most folks, however.

They used to have a version called N (for instance Windows 10 Professional N) that was the version that could be sold in Europe and had the browser selection menu among other things, but I am not sure if they still do that with 11.
