It really is obvious that the abbreviation for pounds comes from the Latin word for the instrument used to measure pounds when the unit was originally established, a Libra which means scales or balance.

Using kilograms would have save him from this attempt... Protect your kids, adopt international units.
What? With kg he would need to be over twice as fat. Cos u know, 480kg is over two times 480 pounds.
Hectograms would’ve worked fine though. Admittedly 480 hg is pretty much starvation for a regular sized man, but more attainable than 480 kg.
if you are a bit above 400 pounds you may want to push a bit to reach 480. If you are 200kg, adding 280kg for the joke would seem to hard... and so the cycle would not start.
