Never heard of lb, what does it mean?

And how does it compare with normal metrics?

I means pound.

It really is obvious that the abbreviation for pounds comes from the Latin word for the instrument used to measure pounds when the unit was originally established, a Libra which means scales or balance.

I really don't get how people can't keep up. /s
