Honestly just an excellent episode of Ted Lasso.

It's one of those episodes where you can clearly see where the story is heading just a few minutes in. You know it's going to end in heartbreak but you deny it. And of course you can also see the plot line of the episode ending in joy. Then it hits, the huge victory and the huge loss, back to back.

Just beautifully done.

The game and Mae plot was clearly the best, but in general I’ve been disappointed in this season.

They were very slow to bring on and explore the new players, who are by far the best part of the season. Rebecca, Higgins, Keely, and Roy have descended into exasperating sitcom tropes. Tracey Ullman has been obnoxious all season and the reveal was way more telegraphed than the Mae one. Finally, in a rare departure from the “show don’t tell” mantra, I find Beard’s life outside coaching is way funnier when described rather than explored; it should be like Maris from Frasier.

And through all that, it’s still better than most stuff, lol.

I love Tracy Ullman, but can't argue with your summation. Still just glad she showed up.

And yes, it is nowhere near what the show was before, but I love getting a somewhat inspired new season.
