"It was not a mistake," I'm just that dumb.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

The Republican way.

Schmitt was a state attorney general. I wonder if he demonstrated the same temperament and care for details in that job that he's demonstrating in this one? I wonder how many other prosecutors, at municipal and state levels, are just like him?

[–] Boe@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

Yes he did.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 61 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It was incredibly gratifying, having already read the headlines and knowing what was gonna happen, to see how smug he got when he accused Smith of perjury.

Video for anyone that hasn't seen it: https://youtu.be/7BwxhZpec4M

State Farm Arena doesn't even have a Section 109, row 1. They use letters. 😂

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 53 points 4 days ago

LOL, it only gets funnier. 🤣

Waiting for him to demand the media doesn't call him stupid:

ALL conservatives are pathological liars. 100% of them. A conservative will look you in the eyes and lie to you about what they want for lunch. They cannot help it. Dishonesty and manipulation are the only way conservatives can communicate.

I hope he continues to double down.

Of coure he will. These guys is that they are all authoritarians. And it finally clicked in my head - authoritarianism is just narcissism wrapped in a hotdog bun they call governing.

  1. That didn't happen. <- he started here
  2. And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
  3. And if it was, that's not a big deal.
  4. And if it is, that's not my fault.
  5. And if it was, I didn't mean it.
  6. And if I did, you deserved it.

Hey, stop making my comment before I read the post!

j/k, but I seriously thought the words "Of course he is" and then thought of the narcissist's prayer when I read the post title

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago

They're all cluster B people

[–] tidderuuf@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

Me too. If they attempt to move forward with a charge of perjury it really sets a precedent that Democrats could go after every single MAGA because they spout literal diarrhea from their mouths and get shit mixed up all the time.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

No, no, no. That’s how we make things worse. People afraid or unwilling to admit their wrong and just digging in like they’re right.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 5 points 4 days ago

Ha ha, we are so far passed that right now. There is no going back.

That face reads as abject terror at the thought of the situation happening to her. Did she narrowly lose the raffle to be the obstructionist on this one?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I wish I could vote this up about a thousand times. Only way it'd be funnier if it was a dolly zoom.

It'd be funny to see this spliced in with other reaction shots.

[–] Floon@lemmy.ml 16 points 4 days ago

I love this for him.

[–] I_Jedi@lemmy.today 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You! Yes, you, the one reading this. I know you are Jack Smith's body double, and you went to the game Smith was allegedly at so he could engage in all sorts of unspeakables in secret! I saw you do it with my own two eyes! And now that you are exposed for the, uh, Cuban spy you are, reader, the whole world now knows of your treachery.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

"wait... Jack Smith is... Cuban? He doesn't look particularly Cuban."

-MagaMorons

[–] I_Jedi@lemmy.today 5 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Oh yes. Jack Smith is under deep, deep cover, working directly for the Cuban government in their diabolical plot to overthrow the United States. The Cubans have a doomsday army - billions strong - hiding underground, ready to conquer the entire country when they get the go ahead. The honorable Republicans must interrogate Jack Smith, a high ranking leader in the Cubans' secret society, and make him say where the hidden Cuban bases are. Otherwise, they shall conquer the entire United States, and then, the world!

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Okay, but an important detail: will we get free healthcare?

[–] I_Jedi@lemmy.today 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Absolutely. They want you alive for as long as possible using healthcare tech that looks like sci fi, but they will use their mind control devices to make you completely loyal to them.

[–] GreyEyedGhost@piefed.ca 2 points 3 days ago

If that healthcare tech can make my knees not hurt every day, they will have my undying loyalty, too.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

It's the Cubans that have been hoarding all the medbeds for themselves?

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 4 days ago

Don't give them any ideas, that is an improvement over what they are actually saying to the same effect really. Making shit up as they go.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

one wonders why they'd invade when they can just let Trump do his thing.

[–] I_Jedi@lemmy.today 4 points 4 days ago

Ah, but the Cuban Doomsday Army is using Trump is weaken the US for invasion. For you see, Obama and Biden used some truly insidious brainwashing technology on Trump. All the talk of "Biden made the prices go up" is actually what free will Trump has left, trying to fight back against the Cuban Doomsday Army by outing members of their High Command. The war with Iran started after the secret society met in Havana, and Jack Smith personally pressed the brainwashing tech button to make Trump launch the attack.

[–] Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 days ago

Schmitt; full of shit.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

had his head up trumps ass so long the shit has soaked into his skull replacing the brain

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

The State Farm Arena doesn't even have a basement?

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

So? The Streisand Effect will handle it.
