Exactly what I opened the comments to come here and say. Are layoffs just a thing that happens to companies? Like a natural disaster?

Yep, it's all external forces acting against the company...

More like, Disney employees are hit by wave of layoffs. Disney is REAPING benefits from it. Fucking bloodsuckers.

The number of people able to afford to consume their product (and any other non-essential product) will continue to decrease as a result of these and similar decisions. Prices or ad revenue will need to increase for the people who can still pay for it in order to continue to maximize profits. Eventually the product hits a price (or annoyance) point which too few wish to pay and their revenue will collapse. People could accelerate this process by voting with their money. Withholding or paying is our individual vote for or against a corporate entity.
